I think SC3 is great just because of CoTS.

It just seems to me in the spirit of ‘next generation’, that Amy would have inherited Raph’s fortune and became the new lady of his castle, and thus the main fencing character of SoulCalibur. Sure Raph shouldn’t age, but any number of things could have happened to him - he wasn’t well liked in his region, and he faced many powerful opponents throughout the series. Somebody could have done him him during the gap.

But we as a fanbase gotta get this game more competitive tho. Tekken is more popular competitively then the SC series now. This game seen as more of a casual game and not even Japan truly support the series with exception to SC3:AE. Maybe I will get my lazy ass to support the series when it comes.
Most likely not doing Arcade Version of this game so it is all up to us. SCIV is competitive but most people just not interested into it. I know it is really early for this kind of talk but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I’ve been harping on having an arcade version for this reason for quite some time. The reason Japan and the rest of Asia isn’t playing is because there isn’t an Arcade version. I know it won’t happen, but if they want this game to be internationally competitive, the importance of an Arcade version cannot be understated.
If there isn’t an arcade version. The netcode better be fucking godlike. That would at least make it somewhat feasible for the players to play the game they love.
You do know that MILF means mother I’d like to fuck… in common parlance a mother is a woman who has children… Neither Ivy nor Setsuka are mothers.

It’s more like the other way around. None of the Soul games (SE, SC 1-3) caught on in JP arcades unfortunately. I hope there’s at least an arcade loketest phase.
But they were enough to sustain a small but extremely dedicated scene. They are unfortunately killing that scene as well as any hope of making it competitive in those regions.
Soul Calibur is just not as popular in Asia as it is in North America and Europe, and has been more successful on the console than in the arcade. Plus Asia played SSF4 when it was out on the console, and they’re playing MK and MVC3, so it’s not a necessity for a game to come out in the arcade in that region, especially since arcades are on the decline anyway.
And at the end of the day, Namco is a business. They’re not going to put a game in the arcade if it’s not going to make them money, and arcade operators are not going to buy a cabinet if it’s not going to make them money. The competitive scene over there can play fine on console.
The point is that playing a console only game requires people in these areas to make ungodly sacrifices just to play the game on a semi regular basis. They can either do that, or they can play Tekken. Hey wait, where did my scene go!?!
Also, only a few regions in Asia really played a lot of SSF4. Those were the regions with godly internet. The rest stayed playing vanilla in arcades.
Well, that’s not going to happen. You talk about arcade decline in Asia, but home consoles are really on life support. Even then, in places like Japan and Korea, arcade presence has always been critical for fighters to gain popularity. But SC is popular enough out in Western markets that competitive SC can survive without significant participation from Asia.
Ungodly sacrifices like what? Why can’t you guys get some consoles setup at an arcade to play at?
You say that as if that’s an easy thing to do. (It’s not. We’ve tried.)
