I’ll check it out if Cervantes is playable.
I love the ‘character contingent game purchase’ clause. This seems exclusive to fighting gamers.
Nah.
If a Batman game came out, and you could only play as Commissioner Gordan, or a Mega Man game where you could only use Roll, then yeah… no.
Iconic characters pretty much define a lot of games.
This is no less true with fighters than with any other genre.
There is a major reason why Ryu and Ken were added to Street Fighter 3, post-release, just as Akuma and Chun were added to its third iteration… care to hazard a guess as to why?

lol
There’s been Mega Man games where you’re not Mega Man himself.
There’s Batman books that don’t have Batman himself in it.
But I digress, I still find people who base an entire purchase on one character amusing. Maxi’s my main, but I won’t write off SCV if he (or a technical successor) doesn’t make the roster. Whatever reasons people have for making a purchase is not my concern, but I can comment the hell out of it.
So you’re saying that there are people who would play a Mega Man game where the only playable character is Roll?
And there are people who’d buy a Batman game where the only playable character was Commissioner Gordon?
You might not write off SC if there is no Max or otherwise ‘Chuckin’ character, but a lot of players do not feel the same way.
Hell, Sean wasn’t even enough for Shoto fans in SF3.
And while I bought all three of them, SC2-4 didn’t get nearly the same interest or playtime from me, due the distinct absence of Hwang in them.
His “spiritual successor” wasn’t worthy of holding Hwang’s dick whilst he took a piss, let alone his sword.

Talk to a Metal Gear fan who didn’t like MGS2. Chances are Raiden will be one of the major dislikes about it.
People take the ‘I’m good with just a black screen and red/green/blue hitboxes’ argument too far sometimes. Fighting games aren’t 100% all about gameplay for most people.
I only play Megaman games where I can play as Tron.
The SF3 thing is irrelevant: Sean wasn’t insufficient for fans, they just wanted what they felt were the 2 main characters back. As for the batman thing, even if there was no Bruce in the game, people WOULD be happy to play as Tim. As long as there was A Batman in that bitch. Same with Megaman. They would want to be able to play as A Megaman. Doesn’t have to be Rock. That said…Yun Sung DOES suck compared to Hwang. It’s like Namco enjoys making korean charactes flashy, weak, and somewhat ineffective.
That’s the Soul Team, and that’s why SC has sucked since it stopped getting arcade releases. Everything started getting retarded: balance, lack of safety on defensive options, overpowered/underpowered 8 way moves, goofy guest characters. When a game is home-only, they just do all kinds of bullshit with it they KNOW wouldn’t fly if it were an arcade release…and no, patches can’t fix terrible choices.
travis tounchdown for guest character!!!
fucking do it!!!
either that or bayonetta i guess, i think there was already some talk about that one
First video ever… on the worst quality ever, but that’s it.
Hitting an opponent OTG doesn’t look very complicated…
Looks a lot faster than IV
Looks nice… well as nice as blurry footage can get.
lol at somebody commenting on OTGs. Seriously.
I really like what I’ve seen - even though I can’t really see shit in that video. The pacing looks pretty swell.
Hopefully we’ll get a decent video at E3.
i’m still waiting on seeing some lizardman. i always liked him.
no more feathers please
He had a costume/skin with no feathers.
in sc4 you were forced to use it to customize him, so i got tired of that rather quickly
i’m more interested in seeing nightmare anyway now that i think about it
