Wow, good diss, im preparing to bite down on the cyanide as i type this.
I’m wondering where the 3D is all mashing crap start, since it sure as hell didn’t start with VF.
It started when you could get strings of attacks that where different by pressing the same button, as opposed to most 2D fighters were you have to press different buttons to get strings of attacks.
Scrubs view this as taking no skill, since you can get strings of attacks to come out without knowing the button combination. Although people with skill will just destroy these scrubs and take their quarters.
Characters like Maxi in SC, Christie/Eddie contribute to this, since these scrubs have no skill (although they believe they do) lose to people mashing with these characters, in order to keep pride they have to make up an excuse. People that know better, already know that Maxi is easy to GI, Eddie/Christie is low parry bait…etc…
Whatever helps these scrubs sleep at night…
I guy named Eddy Gordo definetly helped in people signifying they could beat anyone by “button” mashing in 3-D games, although that ain’t true worth shit, I’d love to see any of these “button mashers” square off against me Tekken. Anyways to get back on topic, I agree with SithKilla, where is the ability to add mass and weight to your characters, otherwise everyone will be the same size  which will suck, I want to be able to make my Bruce Lee build guy, to my Astaroth build guy. Btw, the customizations seem like some of them come out from an mmorpg, from things like a Knight, Dancer, Samurai, etc, etc.
Anyways, it looks better than alot of the customs I’ve seen, infact far better than what I’ve seen from almost any game, and besides, I’m glad that Soul Calibur III will have this feature, as I’ve been waiting for a fighting game to incorporate the create your own character feature into their fighting game( a solid one, which SCIII seems to show some decency), I remember when CvS2 had the custom color’s and name your character as well…I spent like hours just customizing my characters, my cousin’s and I all customized our own fave guy…shitty thing was, my bro’s fave custom characters happened to be Sagat/Blanka/M. Bison while mine was Ryu/Chun Li/Kyo…got my ass kicked more than a “few” time  so I was like fuck custom characters now.
if memory serves it was soulblade… the predecessor to soulmasher 1… if u mash in 3s, cvs2 or mvc2 u’ll basically get perfected or at least look retarded… but in the latest incarnations of sc or tekken even a handicapped 5 year old can pose a threat… the tactics in 2d are so refined that u just can’t get close to winning by mashing…but in the tiny world of 3d (a cage, or an endless cage if theres no walls), accidental changes in strings can be perceived as subtley mixing up ur attacks and combos are just an accidental juggle into a wall away… and in DOA u can even mash to get OUT of combos… i saw a scrub named mashedpotatoes mash buttons against ricky at ecc in t5 and he won w/ a freaking kangaroo… if johnny doughnuts beat me in marvel using lowtier shit i’d retire…
How about this…me and you meet up and play any fighting game, your choice. Winner gets to kill the loser. I live on LI also, just tell me the time, day, and place
yeah i know, how cool would it be to have an astaroth moving around with talim’s moves. lol
wow u can prove this?
I wonder what movesets there would be to pick for the custom character. Will it be like the wrestling game style customization where you can give your character any move you want in the moveset and make him uber powerful?
I hope there is something to balance it out otherwise you will have to create the same guy as the other dude, but with a different name just to compete with his custom character.
Hey, thanks Namco! This create a fighter thing is a much better feature than ONLINE MULTIPLAYER! And just in time for Christmas, too!
Then dont buy the game and keep playing MK Deception.
Jeez, not every fighting game released now is gonna be online.
Hell, #reload is online and you know how well that’s doing.
^^ what he said
You have no fucking clue what your talking about. First of all Roger is not low tier, and his tactics aren’t low tier shit. Second of all I know Mashed potatoes and he doesn’t button mash, so stop saying shit you don’t know about. Third of all no one accidentally juggles anyone, you sound like one of these people who constantly get hit by Eddie’s f+4~4+3,4,4 and then calls the game a mash fest when only retards get hit by that constantly against mashers. DOA is a different story as that game sucks, but based on the kind of “fecal” matter coming out of your mouth Id say it’s probably the only 3D game you have played.
it’s funny because my friends who are pc gamers will play fighting games with me every so often but they just random mash. they’ll look like a idiot on 3s or #r, but sometimes manage to pull off some good stuff in sc2 or t5. but they still lose anyway
ok mr.funny jokes pretend like roger should be beasting on top players and its not the games mash factor… also fast mid attacks should not be overheads… thats retarded especially since some animations look exactly the same as the high counterparts (or even low attacks ie:steve d + 2 into bs)… u should have to earn ur high/low games w/ technical ability and creativity, not mashing some auto-mixup string bullshit…
You think i mashed my way to fuckin 4th place… who the fuck are you and what do you know about shit… mashed through ricky o… yea fuckin right kid… i play my fuckin roger top notch… u think i mashed through devil x… brian h… realyst… game… rugal b… etc… etc… get a clue
What i’m wondering is why can’t the 2d fighter fan boys just fuck off. So far it seems like whenever someone wants to talk about a 3d fighter some 2d jackass must come in here strutting his stuff on a game he has little understanding for. I play both 3d and 2d fighters and appreciate both of them. This is about a create your own character on soul calibur 3 and so far all we’ve accomplished is arguing over how button mashy one game is to another. Both games have their share of mashers whether it to christie’s messed up mixups or the constant HK installs followed with sweeps(not great examples but anywho). With practice such scrubbish actions are repelled easily. Why can’t we all just get along.
The character creation feature here seems to be the best one to come along in years. I might buy it just for that. SC2 was okay, and I liked the design of it, but I haven’t played it in a LOOOONNNNG time.
I sincerely hope this CAF doesn’t get fucked up somehow. It looks to have almost the whole nine yards already.
Well, even if the CAF does suck, doesn’t mean the baseline game will be bad, and that’s the important part.
I expect the CAF to suck. Honestly, I have low expectation for SC3 due to lack of arcade release= higher prob of garbage tactics being found.
hahaha. i like the way you phrased that.
