To be completely honest, I use 11 instead of 12 into doctor most of the time. I use 3 into doctor after super.
Also, what kind of stick/controller are you using? At home I use a SF4TE stick which is really tough to do it on, but then at work we have an MK arcade machine using the MK sticks (disgusting sticks but w/e). The SF sticks use a box gate which is what makes it difficult, whereas the MK sticks use a circle gate which make it much much easier I’ve noticed. Now if only the button layout wasn’t crazy.
If you hit the anti-air you can follow up with the normal shot and hit them on their way down if hit at the right angle. It’s like getting that extra MB shot without using meter, lol.
While playing I accidentally stumbled upon the fact that you can do f23 into tantrum. I can’t remember if it’s in that followup combo video or not but it’s pretty nifty. f22 and f23 are pretty great, and mixing up only doing f2 or doing f23 kinda messed with my friend’s head. Those gunshots are such an awkward animation, lol.
it must’ve been right after they landed, it’s really quick to the point where i don’t think it should’ve hit the opponent at all, he did bounce after it so i guess it was a really ambiguous reset
I’m getting cupcake almost 100% of the time if I have negative edge turned on. Make certain you have it off! It will mess you up really bad. It’s the “Release Check” option in the Controller Preset.
haha way ahead of you! i knew right away to disable release check. SSFIV made me loathe input leniency. i also have “alternate controls” off, even though i wanted to use them. i’m just using a ps3 pad, by the way. i was practicing 2, 1, play doctor earlier, and i got it to land a couple times. i guess you just have to be ridiculously fast. i think it would be easier if that string had like a double hitting norma or something.
now i have to go back and watch delriach’s video because i forgot the followup to play doctor.
Goodgood. A little trick I found with these dbf command grabs is it’s a bit more consistent if you just circle around DBUF. At the same time, I’m using a stick, not a pad. I shudder to think of how tough some of the things I do would be on the ps3 pad.
Got a question. How do I cancel 2, Up+3 xx Play Doctor?
Been doing it, and for some reason half the time doctor doesn’t come out even when my inputs are perfect (showing the command window). I’m guessing the timing is just really strict after up+3? If so, when should I cancel it?
A random tidbit for anyone having trouble dealing with zoners;
EX Cupcakes are your best friend in any match up with a zoner. Yes, even Deathstroke and Superman. If they’re throwing out projectiles, they WILL get hit by this, and the extended ground bounce gives you enough time to get in, and get damage. At that point, I actually like backing out, and letting them gain momentum, only to smack them down again for even thinking about throwing out a projectile. Try not to stay full screen, but far enough away so that you can take advantage of that down time. Once they have to go in, it’s simply a matter of blocking correctly, and knowing what to punish.
Injustice has an absurdly long buffer window, it’s basically impossible to press anything too early. Afaik the only reasons it won’t come out are if you’re inputting it too late, or not inputting it clean enough.
Wish I could record to show how I’m inputting it. Like, it cannot be anymore perfect.
When I do it too fast , nothing. Sometimes I’ll input Really slow (taking an entire second inputting the command) and it’ll still come out, but really late. My command window always show D , B , F 1 and nothing more. Just so odd, never had this much trouble on anything like this before. Glitch?
It’s not a glitch. It’s just difficult timing. One thing I’ve noticed when trying to go too fast is I’ll end up pressing the button too early. Try adding about half a beat between in stick movements and the button press. Also, make sure you have negative edge turned off (that’s a given). What I’ve been doing is actually thinking of it being a 360 motion, FDBUF. That won’t work when popping it off alone but in a combo it tends to work better for my stick.
this seems to be my best chance but I main Harley like so many of you and I was wondering if anyone could help me get her arkham costume? it would be greatly appreciated
I apologize but I must retract an earlier statement. I found that you CAN do j.2, 12, dbf1 after the super no matter how long the combo. The only difference is after a long super combo, you have to hit the j.2 VERY late in the jump, or else he falls too fast and lands on the ground before you can get in the 12.
i was messing around with 1, 2, play doctor after a juggle yesterday. i found that you can do B3, jump, meet the opponent in the air with J2, input 1, 2, special move/super BEFORE you land, and it will come out, but play doctor is still difficult to land. also, if the opponent falls too slowly, a.k.a. the combo wasn’t long enough, the 1, 2 will whiff.
Yeah, judging how fast they fall is really specific to how long the combo you’re doing is.
If ANYONE finds any videos of GOOD harley players in actual matches, let me know. I’m tempted to buy a capture card and make some myself, because the lack of footage is bugging me.
