you’re right about the first paragraph. qcf, [your normal], qcf+p/k can be done with akuma’s close mk but you’re comprising when you do the mk, which is the most important part in that series. it’s a bad practice to buffer anything before the initial hit imo. try practicing triple short instead if you’re still struggling with short short. it should make the motion feel more deliberate since you’re not as rushed. then later, cut out the first short. i personally feel that short short super is more like an art rather than just picking b/w qcf in the middle or both at the end. you’ll find your comfort zone as you do it more. it’s normal to struggle w/ hitconfirming it when you’re focusing on the execution part, so just use easier hitconfirms in the meantime.
i have a lot of arcade exp and i always felt like elsemi’s emu was the best in terms of input response and game speed. iirc someone (digitalbooty?) did tests a long time ago and confirmed that elsemi’s has zero input lag. it also has the clearest audio for some reason. this might not be completely correct, but to me it’s like:
mame: proper speed, most input lag of the three
fba: increased speed (i actually don’t notice this, but others have said it), input lag in b/w the other two
elsemi: ideal speed, no discernible input lag, most cpu-intensive
