SOCD Cleaner Kit Now Available

But the VCC point on the PCB is already occupied by the wire that connects to the USB

Both pcb’s need to share the VCC line. Solder a wire to the underside of the Qanba pcb VCC and then connect it to the SOCD pcb VCC.

You don’t cut the USB VCC wire, you tap into it, solder another wire where it meets on the PCB and run that to your SOCD. If you actually read what I asked you you notice that[

The operation was successful

EDIT: Or so I thought until I tested, and I can’t get down and up to work

It is the End user’s (that is you) responsibility to see to and to carry out implement your own repairs and modifications. Ultimately the end users hold responsibility for how they implement their own repairs (mainly you).

I did recommend you find someone to do this for you and you choose to ignore this.
We shown you everything you need to know, and you choose you did not need the sources we told you too read.
You failed doing you mod correctly because you failed to follow our advice and warnings and you have the audacity to claim that the SOCD board is a scam. A Product which warns you right away that this assumes you have a certain level of electronic skill which you never had no shown any interest in learning.
Now Stop posting multiple post asking the same questions.

Either find a modder who do the mod for you correctly for a price, spend the time to actually learn what we have shown you or get the hell out and forget the whole project.

i have been learning basic electronics all week so i could install this

also false alarm, prob just a case of crossed wires, when I put only up in, up works, gonna test each direction one by one

Ok I found the real problem

Whenever I have up and down soldered to the board, it always treats pressing up or down as pressing both at the same time, the wires aren’t touching, so i dunno what the problem is

And now i disconnect up, and it’s nothing again?

This board is weird

It’s not weird, you just have no idea what you’re doing and have no attention to detail. Look at the bottom of the board and read the assembly instructions again.

I think I found the TRUE PROBLEM

the ends of 2 resistors whose ends were too long were touching, when i seperated them and only down was in, it started to work again
maybe this is is it, hopefully

No, the true problem is that you didn’t pay attention to detail, shorting a resistor was just a side effect. Short of a plug-and-play mod like Cerberus or TEasy Strike, this is one of the easiest mods you can do electronically.

Honestly you sound like an idiot, not because you dont know how to mod the board properly but because instead of actually listening to the advice people have given you, you choose to ignore it and then shout about how its the boards fault that you cant get it.
There are some nice people on this board so they might still choose to help you but if I were them I would leave you to drown in your misery because of your disrespect towards them and this board.

Nigga you just sound dumb.

I did listen to the advice which is how i was able to get this far

What do you mean by “didn’t pay attention to detail”?

Letting the ends of the resistors touch each other and short out, instead of just clipping them off after they were soldered in? Come on dude, that’s basic electronics 101. You’re lucky the ICs didn’t get fried because of that. Or asking what the VCC screw terminal is, when the instructions clearly say that’s only if you have a PS360+ PCB? Between Darksakul and myself, we gave you all the tools and info needed to put this thing together properly and maybe even learn a thing or two in the process and become a modder, but instead you just whined and cried for someone to hold your hand, not to mention the laughable $20 gift card offer.

And don’t even get me started on you saying a board is a scam. Toodles has done so much for the FGC in terms of modding that saying his board is a scam is, frankly, insulting to the Tech Talk forum. You clearly have no idea about all the work that guy has done for the FGC in terms of modding.

ok i am placing blame on the board now

that thing should have quick disconnect pins like buttons do to make the whole process easier

who in their right mind would create a board with holes so small you’d have to have extreme precision to solder the wires in a way so that none of the exposed wires touch each other

and there’s 8 slots on one side space extremely close together

toodles should make a beginner’s version of the board for those who don’t have a masters in electrical engineering

i swear this thing is a scam
toodles is probably partnered with the hitbox company to make these things retarded hard to install so they can sell more hitboxes

Do you know how hard it is to clip the ends off the resistors? those things are extremely small, and there’s hardly any space on the board to fit any kind of clippers to cut the ends completely off
I have learned how to do this, but I can’t do it because this board is flawed and not user friendly

Judging from what you’ve said in this thread, I’m certain you are not competent enough to successfully complete the task at hand. Don’t blame anyone or anything else for your incompetence.

i got 3 directions soldered in without wires touching each other
time for the home stretch

“Extreme precision” to solder the wires in? “Master’s in electrical engineering”? Please. Talk to me again about needing precision after you’ve installed surface mount ICs. This kind of soldering is the easiest there is, short of soldering two huge copper water pipes together. Apply flux to the lead. Tin the lead. Put lead in the hole. Apply more flux to the hole. Dab some solder on there. Clip the excess off. The damn thing doesn’t need to be flush with the board. It needs to NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE.

If the board is flawed, then tell me why I installed mine on the first attempt? You’re an idiot for blaming the board because you can’t do basic through-hole soldering or follow instructions. I’m 100% sure that you’re the kind of guy who wanted a hitbox because instead of blaming yourself for being shit at a fighting game, you blamed the stick.

If you had never touched a gun before, and asked me to teach you, you basically took the gun, fired 10 rounds at the target right in front of you, and then blamed it on the sights being crooked when you didn’t hit anything. Instead of, you know, your lack of fundamentals (that I was trying to teach you) like “aim the fucking gun and don’t jerk the trigger.”

Please stop posting in Tech Talk until you’re ready to actually learn.
