So, when do you guys want the next FFA tournament? Post up in here or I’ll text people who might be interested.
Also, on a side note, I now have 2 (TWO!!!) Tekken 5 Hori stick cases available for modding into a better stick! If anyone wants a new stick, I’ll be happy to make you one… At a price, of course.
You basically buy all the parts used to mod the entire thing, the cost of the T5 Hori case, and a little bit of the cut for me. I try to keep the total cost below $100 (assuming you only want a PS1 pad…).
Let me know ASAP, so I can get to work on the stick and buy any necessary parts while I’m still on break.
Hey, guys, I’m looking to get into some SoCal TvC. Do you guys normally go to Dreamlabs or w/e on Tuesdays at 5:00? How late do you guys normally play? Are there any other good places for TvC? Questions!
We usually stay till around 12 or 1 at Dreamlabs. If you can, try to visit the Game With Heart event today. I’m sure the usual bunch will go, not too sure if I’ll go though.
Phampy, just come dude, ride with Rotanibor or something. Considering that there is 3 setups, it would be good to show numbers for TvC at the event, plus you get possible stream time to (fill in EVO comment).
Husser_Brian, We normally have a group @ Dreamlabs every Tuesday since its casual night ($5 for all night). There is always a few people to play, and you have some SF4 or whatever else they’re playing since its a PC cafe. For other meetup its based on personal communication and such. I’m sure if you’d like to meet up for some sessions let someone like Royal Flush or the rest of us know.
I’ll try to be there tonight, depending on my schedule for tomorrow. I’ll be playing Chun/Alex on a MAS stick if I can make it. Thanks for the info, and it’ll be nice to meet you all.
Edit: Hey, thanks for the games. I learned a lot, and I hope you guys don’t mind if I try again sometime.
You guys are amazing. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do, lol.
Jint/Redondo Beach John: Here’s the progress I’ve made on the stick I making for you so far:
-Things I already own that will be put to use for your stick: T5 Hori Stick case (already gutted), PS1 Analog controller (for padhacking), Sanwa JLF (this is the arcade stick itself), and 8 orange screw-in Seimitsu buttons
-Ordered mounting plate and nuts and bolts for Sanwa JLF, two orange 24mm snap-in Sanwa buttons, and one orange Sanwa ball top
-Made Photoshop image that will end up being the artwork: Tekken5HoriTemplateWithPhoenixWright.jpg
Jint: More progress on your arcade stick today:
-Sanded down tabs on T5 Hori’s 30mm button areas with sanding bits and power drill. 30mm snap-in buttons fit in no problem.
-Using the power drill again, drilled out pre-installed mounting plate which will be replaced by the JLF’s flat mounting plate.
I haven’t been able to fix my stick since Sunday, so doubt I will make it to WNF this week. All the solders seem to be intact, and nothing obvious is damaged. It seems to be the PS2 cord since the Dreamcast cord in it works fine and it’s not the GC converter box. After I resuscitated it once, it seemed to hiccup a few lag spikes and then die again.
Hope to join you guys next week!
I think you should try replacing your PS2 PCB with a PS1 PCB instead. I can lend you a PS1 digital pad (less compatible with certain converters, but I know they work with the Mayflash PS1/PS2 converter, which you own).
If you want to buy a PS1 PCB, make sure you get the first generation analog pads (the grey ones with the rectangular shaped plug input; they’re easy to solder to and highly compatible with converters), as shown here:
I’m actually trying to get rid of my PS1 digital pads, so whoever wants one, just let me know.
I’m just gonna do WNF from now on to keep it down to one trip a week (aside from tournaments and other casual sessions). I think that’s the consensus around here unless people want to play at Dreamlab.
Thanks, Flush. There isn’t actually a PS2 PCB in my stick. I looked the part up and both cords are soldered to this single microcontroller. SX28AC/DP-G (Lead-Free)
I’m not sure how I can link the Dreamcast if I add a whole new PCB. MAS is terrible with answering their phone too.
I’ll be ripping up a PS1 controller using those pics this weekend though if my order arrives to build my new stick! Turn my back on America…
