What is it with SoCal and throwing tournaments on holidays? First Easter and now Halloween? Sounds like it could be hype but the date kind of kills chances of making it. Maybe I’ll just have to bring my baby boy dressed up and get candy from people at the card tables
and to drink all your booze after we lose! so hype

And about Holiday weekends and tournaments. As much as it sucks because it may conflict with parties, think of it as another optional party to go to. The only difference is this one involves a tournament. lol.

Event Update 9/3/2010!!
We know everyone has been waiting for more details about the upcoming SoCal Regionals tournament. A few things have changed since we first announced the event.
First, the date of the tournament has been pushed back a week to November 5-7, 2010. During the initial agreement, Halloween weekend was on lock. But as we began to progress with more organization, Hollywood Park Casino realized the potential large scale of this tournament and had to put the event through a more extensive approval cycle.
In order to keep SCR on schedule as a 2010 event, we also had to change the venue where the tournament will take place. We are proud to be holding SCR at The Proud Bird, a beautiful venue with a unique view of aircraft landing to LAX.
What about Hollywood Park Casino you ask? We are already planning a possible future event with HPC that will utilize the pending approval.
With that said, we would like to drop the first major news of SCR. Partnering up with Tournament Legacy, we would like to announce a $10,000 prize pot for Super Street Fighter 4. That is right! All competitors in SSF4 will be competing for this large prize that will be awarded to the Top 8 finishers. Mouth watering yet? Good, because there is plenty more to announce.
