AI is to far for me
I agree on Fridays. And Jo, think about it, if you’re the one dedicating the time to running these things, it should be you making the decision. Enough people have said they’re okay with Fridays (and if others have a problem with it, they haven’t spoken up), so let it be so.
I think the FFA ranbats should still happen. The majority of SoCal GG players seem to be closer to AI atm, but I don’t think that should be a reason to cultivate the upper SoCal area, especially in the SFV.
RanBats at FFA will never conflict with AI RanBats. What do you guys say? FFA monthlies? or FFA Biweeklies?
If enough people actually show up, biweeklies. This hasn’t happened so far, and I personally would only want to drive all the way to ffa from irvine once a month.

about ranbats on friday nights at AI, I have no prob so long as I can actually make it on time since it’s so far for me. 8pm would be a little too soon for me, but let’s try it out a few times and we’ll see. If not can we push back the start time by like half an hour or so?
Saturday is a better day for ranbats at AI for me as well as some of my other friends that wanna participate. Guaranteed work on fridays . I’ll try to make it to a few of them if they end up being on Friday though.
Im back from camping and wanted to thank everyone for making such a bad ass evo. Sorry, I was so scrubby from not playing, but after playing during the weekend I was doing a bit better. It was awesome to see how much everyone has progressed in their game. Also great to see y’all so active setting up new tourneys and helping to grow the cali scene. To all people posting in san diego looking for comp talk to deci/purrin/shtkn and get that shit going. Some highlights for me.
-Hellmonkey money matches with Jo hyping it up. Jo should officially be the hype man for all ranbats. Have you guys ever considered doing a commentary to ranbat matches posted online? Something to explain to noobs whats going on and so I can watch vids with JO saying “Get that money, monkey!”
-5V5 GG Midwest vs. USA was awesome. Props to midwest for having the balls to run this and providing a crazy MM on the big screen. Both sides were flipping out and I got to watch Alex G bring Dizzy rape.
-Everyone drinking in the room was too funny.
-Chang rushdown is godlike. In case anyone ever wondered, CVS2 is actually my main game but I had to stop playing so Gene could take over the socal scene. It was time for some new blood and the scene was dying off from me winning every tournament with K-Chang. Marvel assists, balls in your face, guard crushes, Guy is unstopable. A-Sak, bison, Blanka doesnt have anything on any team with Chang in it. 5-1 and the 1 was a courtesy win.
-American team beating a japanese team.
-time machine + inability to be arrested is too powerful.
In general, whole experience was awesome. Im sad I cant hang with you guys more but when I can get back I will try to visit. I hope deci and some of the new blood in SD can get things going south of LA again.

yeah trying to get more people in sd to play gg as we speak. new us release of ac is going to help a lot. not to mention i’m scrubby too so i don’t scare them away when i play them

serious question guys. i was wondering if i could play ggac on my ps3 with a new stick. i know there are sticks for ps3 but if i buy a ps2 stick, would the ps2 stick work on my ps3?

Everyone I saw at Evo playing Tekken5DR or VF5 on PS3 was using a Adapter to hook up their PS2 controllers/sticks. I have no idea what or where it’s from but that is probably the best route to take. GGAC is coming out in a month or so for the US so it should work np on an american PS3…I would think anyway. Hope that helps.
