So, what is the justification that arcade sticks are better then pads?

My hori EX2’s ‘A’ button broke after like two months. That’s why I hate it.

I can function well above average on the 360 pad. I actually completed all trials on vanilla sf4 and super using a pad. Plinking just isn’t natural on a pad but if I actually played sf4 it would work for fierces. Medium plinking is a no go though. Ultras would be missed so often that I would never play on a pad w/o macros. OBD = pro though.

I recently got a Madcatz SE Fightstick just to try out a stick, and even though I’m still in the transition stage, I’ve really liked being able to use all my right hand fingers to perform executions… The PS3 pad was far more uncomfortable and feels far more limiting in comparison now, so there’s no way I would go back… I’ve never tried any other pads, and I’m still incredibly new to the game, so it’s really just a newbie observation on my part, but I definitely will be upgrading to the TE stick asap.

For the right hand, it’s almost impossible to argue for the pad. I’m not saying pad is shit and stick is king, the difference is smaller, but the difference is just clear and it’s the first improvement I saw when switching to stick. However, re-learning quarter circle, dragon punch and half circle motions on the stick was no joke (all sanwa if curious). That took a while and I still find it not that much better than pad. For combos, timing, lots of general stuff, the stick is now better for me b/c your hands are just much less encumbered than when you’re holding the pad.

If you already have the SE, just order the Sanwa stick and buttons from Lizardlick.

I’m going to be ordering Sanwa parts for the SE really soon, but I just wanted to have two sticks for friends and stuff…

sticks are addicting you buy one next thing you know you own like 5. Can never have to many they just look so fuckin cool
