you’ll probably just get probation, at most community service + probation. the guy did approach you, hit your friend with his car (now THATS assault with a deadly weapon), refused to end the fight, and threatened to harm you first. maybe someone who’s more familiar with california state law can chime in.

You should beef up, like now. Your friend should’ve stayed in the car but at least she has the marks on her chin to prove she was assaulted by his car. Even if it’s in your favor, you just never know how it’s going to work out when it comes to law.

Rock worked as a Prison CO for a while, I think he just lost all pity/compassion for anyone in there.

I wouldnt expect community service with no time. A couple of those are serious felony charges. You really should have spent that 100k bail and every other dime you have/could get on the best attorney you could find.
Not only would he have possibly made this all go away, but he could have severely reduced your bail to begin with.
Do not use a public defender and make absolutely sure not to use some phone book traffic or personal injury lawyer looking for extra work.

You want a criminal defense attorney that works in the county where your trial is being held. Those guys are at that courthouse everyday and have good relationships with the judges and hearing officers. They will get things done for you.
