yea, i dont know how to play, the game just vame out and im still learning its riduculus juggling combos. not to mention that a friend of mine already plays a gay ass bob or w/e that fat guys name is. im still tryin to find my groove with the game. i posted earlier to see if someone could give a reasonable mentality on how this game is supposed to be played but all i get is responses like this. *
You don’t know how to play. STFU.*
thanks for answerin my question bro lol but w/e i still like fast paced fighters v 3d slow fighters, especialy when you dodge to the left or the right the opponents attack still aims in for you…3d fighting is practically unnecessary at that point when moving to the left or right doesnt help lol.
F*** it lets all just play killer instinct 64 haha. jk.
Some moves track you some don’t, but I do feel like tekken just threw in a lot of unnecessary shit to make people not quit or try something else, kinda like what happened to a lot of third strike players.
cute attempt to mock, even though your on a website forum originally dedicated to a 2D FIGHTER but whatevs. even though i said that their 1-2-3 jabs LOOK SIMILAR not because their just imputed the same so in that sense i think this game is too broad with its attempt to be creative with like effin 40 characters.
ill give you a lulz.
I think you misunderstood this post you did here. Can’t talk about a game as if you’ve played it from the start of the series then turn around and say you don’t like it along with providing bad info.
also, why are you bothering with 3d fighters if you think they’re lame? what are you trying to prove at this point? Cause I think even you’ve gone way over your head on what your point is.
truth. i wont even give that dude the attention to quote his bullshit.
clarify, because what the fuck are you talking about? tekken forums are officially the most scrubby on srk right now. but then again, i didnt pay much attention to the sf4 forums after they blew up. since tekken has been my main game for almost 5 years now competitively, and a game i have admired since tekken 2, and played as a youngin since tekken 3. im thoroughly disturbed by these comments.
i understand some of yall might be youngins who dont know shit about shit, so you post whatever on a forum until you find your way, but jesus christ. but scrubs will be scrubs. those aint new player posts, but straight scrub shit. some of the things i have read are just straight scrub shit. continue playing shit fighter 4 because tournaments hype that shitty game up for no reason at this point, and everyone is playing it. i turned on sf4 for the first time in months today, and was like, thank god tekken is out, and marvel is online.
VF is the best and most balanced 3d fighter and gets no love, cause SEGA is confused. You want to play a balanced 3d fighter check out Virtua Fighter 5 online on 360 or the offline older PS3 version. Sadly until a new VF is release (or at least hinted at a console release, fuck SEGA!?) VF will get no love. That said, I’m digging Tekken 6 right now,I haven’t had this much fun with Tekken since T2. I like it, it surpised me. I’m loving me some LEO (female Akira). Tekken 6 is good.
I started playing Tekken when BR came out in arcade in Japan… I haven’t played in almost a year now, but it’s definitely a lot different than SF. It’s a lot of memorization (movelist properties… high/low crush, mids, which launchers are punishable by what…) Although I’m not great at the game, I think it helps you apply good fighting game fundamentals to SF. Footsies and character awareness are crucial in BR… not saying that it isn’t in SF but you won’t win matches against even scrubs if you don’t have fundamentals. (Maybe it’s just from playing Japanese people…)
As for the diversity of the movelists and character designs… I main’ed Marduk when I was playing and I can honestly say that no other character like him exists in BR. The Mishimas are the closest things to “shotos” in this game, but they all play differently. Like was already pointed out, even Christie / Eddy are different.
I enjoy Tekken 6 greatly. I feel that its way more balanced than SF4. This is coming from someone who plays SF4 alot online. In the case of Tekken 7 idk how its going to work as some characters died during their ending (Baek or Wang) but they could alwyas make new characters with their movesets like Jun to Asuka.
Tekken 6 is the most balanced game I have ever played since Guilty Gear Reload. Yoshi players are taking tournaments and are well represented in Japan by legends like Otokonoko, HelpMe and Noko. Even Souten is picking up Yoshi again. As a Yoshi player I’ve gotta say, he’s never been better, and I think he’s pretty under-rated. Not really an authority on Zafina so I can’t say.
Kaz was god tier in normal t6, now if anything he has been toned down to much. The only thing I will say about the balance is it’s probably one of the best balanced 3d fighters of all time, but at the moment I have a problem with some of the top tier for Br, characters like law are very easy to use, because of this I don’t think they deserve to be at the top. Characters like the Mishima’s are heavy on execution and you need to do way more work to get your damage, because of this I think they should be higher tier. You should be rewarded for using them well. In T6 you still had to work hard with Kaz to make him top tier and not many people could pull it off. Law is eazy mode…
^^ The Mishimas, especially Kazuya, are among the hardest characters to play right. Effective mixups with a consistent variable ewgf is fucking brutal. One thing for sure is until I could implement ewgf into juggles, I stuck to to 1,2 or 3,1,4 or d/f+2,4 for safe startup juggling. Punishment is fucking serious biz.
On topic, knowledge of characters frame advatages is a sure way to not overwhelmed by characters with effective pokes and strings. Certain characters like Bruce, Bryan, Nina are boss in that department.
