This is a major concern for me as well. Wango is the only one worried about the real issues at hand.
I don’t think it’s dead. I think it has the laziest community of players out of all active or at least semi active competitive games. No one wants to direct. No one wants to play if certain other people are playing. Everyone wants to play on sticks no one is willing to bring. It goes on and on. It’s kind of sad because Marvel is an awesome game that could draw 16 - 24 regularly if the players who say they care about it actually cared about it.
I like to think that the players of the BB community has their own minds and can make intelligent observations and conclusions on their own, not some retards that likes to play follow the leader. After all, its not like I spread this stuff to the community, the community was there to experience it themselves. This goes especially to kellfire whos mostly the victim since he brings stuff for things he didn’t intend for.
And the only reason why this “OG player decides something, everyone else follows suit” is because random guys talking things like this will just end up getting flamed and ignored. People might pay slightly more attention to the OG players.
But in the end, its all up to the players to make their own judgements. IMO, OG players are speaking on behalf of the community, not for the community just because they have slightly higher standing in the community.
Asides from that, john pretty much summed it up.
I know you’re trying to do good things for the community as a whole, hence all that rage and drama from SOGO1 (or 2?) about how the tournament “could have been better”. But sometimes, not everything will work out your way, im afraid its just how the world is. Keep trying tho, i cheer for u :party:

i’d play other games but i’d like it more when we use the equipment to speed the “advertised tournaments” and not the side ones.
Unless it’s a big tournament, cap it to 2-3 games max. 3 is even pushing it with that much space in there.

What some people FAIL to understand is that Soul Calibur, or even BB running, DOES NOT AFFECT the so-called bigger tournaments (aside from cross-listed players.)

Dinoz, since you’ve made this pretty public i’m not going to hold back and message you privately like I usually do when I have a concern.
Lets get this straight. THIS IS YOUR SHOW. YOU need to decide what games get played and what goes where and then tell everyone YOURSELF. It’s not the bracket directors job to find equipment, advertise your tournament and sort out all the other minute details of the tournament. Directors are there to make sure things run day of. They’re not there to organize everything for you and then run the entire event so you can sit back and enjoy the show.
As event director it is YOUR job to know how big of a turn out to expect, what kind of games people want to play, and the organizing of the event scheduling and advertising. Once you figure that out you need to inform respective directors on all the major details on what is happening, they take it from there.
So far it seems you don’t have all your ducks in a row. You have a rough idea of what games are being played and what is being requested but all you’ve been doing is pointing fingers and causing chaos.
I don’t usually say shit like this but GET YOUR SHIT IN SHAPE. This isn’t a personal attack on any level however this chaos and disorganization needs to be dealt with if this event is to move forward and be successful.

I’m just saying, you advertise SFIV, Tekken and SC when you started the thread and now you got other things you want to add like HD, BB and maybe others i’m not aware of. Rather than have 3 TV’s for SFIV, don’t run SFHD and use that PS3 for a 4th TV for SFIV for casuals. Make sense? Rather than have BB tourny, use that space for Casuals. Make sense?
Take a lesson from Cha Cha and just concentrate your time and effort for the game people really came for. He had his list of games finalized 2 weeks before Rumble. From the looks of this thread we have SFIV, Tekken and SCIV. Keep it that way and just say that’s it. Finalize now.
Also, Tekken community will bring their equipment and we will meet our quota plus more.
I don’t know why they haven’t pre-registered but really, the only reason people pre-registers is if there is an incentive to do it. i.e. save $20 if you pre-register for EVO2k9.
