SNK Thread - version Fresh and Clean

Just curious, is this coming out on PS2 exclusively? Surely SNKP will announce an arcade version?

The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match - PS2

I told you guys about this in the old thread but nobody believed me:confused:

So what becomes of Neowave?

Though I’ll be happy to be rid of Young Geese and that BS super…

Krauser can’t do much if Rugal spams A-strength Kaiser waves. Krauser has to RTSD down on Rugal to have any chance, and Krauser isn’t good at bullrushing. Rugal can hold his Kaiser Wave as well, making it even harder on Krauser to get in. I’d pretty sure other chars fight Krauser evenly or even win slightly.
Krauser isn’t anywhere near as scary as Regular 98 O-Yash or Iori to me. He’s good, but beatable. He’s more like CvS2 Sagat, he just wins without scaring the pants off of you.

I think with Krauser if you don’t have to deal with his normals, you might have an advantage in the matchup. I Think Eiji might beat Krauser even. I thought Mai would, but she takes too much effort vs a competent Krauser.

DM Kaiser Wave doesn’t beat Rugal’s normal Kaiser wave either.

This should make it easier…it’s not hard to dodge kaiser waves, and if they are held, it’s not much of a problem to advance a few pixels and block, then dodge/roll when you have to. I don’t think the Kaiser waves are what make this a bad matchup, I don’t even think it is a bad one.

Also how is he not that good at rushing? Rushing up with crouch C to that stupid two hit kick move is way too dominating. That plus his run up grab potential makes him pretty scary on the rush.

Krauser has almost everything O Yashiro has and more, and better (besides that far B). Iori, not sure…

He’s good, but beatable. He’s more like CvS2 Sagat, he just wins without scaring the pants off of you.

It’s not as scary as it looks on vids, Krauser’s run speed is kinda slow. Krauser’s hops, jumps, and rolls are also substandard, so he has a hard time getting through all that.

Funny how we’re talking about general SNK stuff in the UM thread and UM match up stuff in this thread.

I’m not sold on Rugal being anti-Krauser either. I think at best its a 5:5 match. Rugal has the tools to zone Krauser, but he has very very little leeway to screw up, cause once Krauser gets inside the match turns ugly fast.

Looking at the Taiwanese SBO qualifiers, I’m beginning to think that Normal Yuri might well be a strong anti-Krauser pick. Far Stand A and well spaced A Burning Knuckles shut down a lot of Krauser’s options. Far stand A not only stops stuff, but gives her nice frame advantage. Far stand A> Uppers will also counter blocked Leg Tomahawks from usually unpunishable distances. And Yuri has a non-counterable cross up (as in Krauser’s counter move won’t counter it) which makes rush down just that bit easier.

How about if Krauser just corner trap rugal?

I think if Krauser has a dodge move, he could just dodge the kaisers and trap rugal in the corner with his normals especially the reverse dp kick.

Aside from the Kaiser Wave what would Rugal use to beat Krauser?

Rugal solves that by delaying his Kaiser waves to throw off the timing. If Rugal gets corner trapped he’s in trouble, but that’s anybody. Rugal also has a very fast Reppuken and other changeup moves to help keep Krauser out as well, but it’s mostly the Kaiser Wave.

The other thing Krauser doesn’t seem to like is people who have a hot spot just outside of his sweep range, such as Billy.

If Krauser uses dodge instead of roll, he just dodges the wave, but doesn’t get to advance much.

Normal Yuri as a counter to Krauser. I can sorta see it, I wonder if that’s the reason we saw all those Yuris at SBO.

We’re going to learn a lot more about Krauser in the next few months if UM remains a hot game in Asia. I bet he ends up still in his slot, but other characters will become more used as counterpicks to Krauser.

But you’re assuming good Krauser players are just going to roll the moment they see the Kaiser wave startup…good players aren’t going to get thrown off by a delayed Kaiser wave…the delaying will actually make Krauser able to slowly move forward little by little until it comes out. In fact, the best players with their reaction could probably just walk/run forward and hit the dodge button when they see the release.

What type of moves does Krauser’s counter reverse? Can it reversel Yuri’s burn knuckle? If so, then burn knuckle can’t be a very viable option since it isn’t hard to react to, it is a strong move because of it’s priority mainly.

So I started playing XI again because my friend wanted to get into it, and I’ve got a brand new team:

Elizabeth, J. Benet, and I forgot her damn name but she plays with Yoyos.

=D

If Rugal is at distance, and the Krauser tries to roll the startup, they’ll get tagged by a smart Rugal who will know when to throw it so it hits the roll recovery. Yeah Krauser can move forward little by little, but it’s nowhere near as easy as you make it sound. Krauser’s mobility is terrible, the only char who’s worse then he is for that is Chang.

Hope you’re joking, cause there’s no way Krauser’s counter should be used as a counter against random burn knuckle pokes. It just doesn’t do enough damage to put the risk/reward ratio in Krauser’s favour. Meanwhile stand A pokes and burn knuckles will beat out leg tomahawks and crouch C. Watch Bun’s matches in the Taiwanese SBO qualifiers to see what I mean.

When I was talking about ‘no counter cross up’ I was talking about air raioken, btw.

When you say standing A pokes you mean just Yuri or Rugal’s? Or everyone in general?

I was talking specifically about Yuri, but Rugal’s stand A is an important move when he’s fighting Krauser too.

Edit:

Bleah I’ll just post the vids to show what I’m talking about

Bun has a very effective strategy going here- control Krauser and make him make stupid mistakes. Whether its something that’s only really effective with Extra mode dash (faster walk speed) and can be repeated consistently by other players, I’m not sure yet.

What happened to Samurai Showdon Edge of Destiny(the 3D one)?

Does anyone in here play Fatal Fury Special on xbox live? I have only played it a couple of times online and every time the other guy just drops when I start winning. I don’t know a whole lot about the game but I am up for playing it with fellow SRKers.

I have it. Send me an invite if you wanna play.

Cool, I think I have you as a friend on there. I usually get on later in the evening. I don’t have a stick for the 360 yet and my play suffers because of it but if you can help me out with some pointers and all that would be awesome.

I suck ass and don’t know a thing other than how to do specials.
