How long did it take you guys to get Bold Cancelling down pat cuz after day 1 of messing with Dante I was unsuccessful.

Getting Volcano instead of Crystal 90% of the time? A few days (I only practice for like an hour a day)

BC teleporting? In Vanilla, a few days. In Ultimate, still havent got it consistently.

Although it did take me a month or two to learn the whole BC bnb (I was using the one with the IAD). I had no clue what the hell I was doing, it was too much new shit lol.

Is it just me or is connecting Cold Shower after Devil Must Die a lot easier in this one? I can actually rely on doing it unlike in Vanilla where 60% of the time I did it too late.

Feels the same to me, got it all the time in Vanilla and I get it just as often in Ultimate.

How do we deal with hidden missiles assist?

Depends on when they’re using it. If they use it from nearly full screen, do Stinger BC Reverb. This lets you cancel into Fireworks then Million Dollars to heavily punish Doom. Also, remember that Missiles suck at tracking so if the opponent isnt rushing you down, a good teleport/wavedash will help.

Yeah I know, but thats the same knockdown you can connect into Reverb Shock right? But Reverb Shock doesnt OTG

What even determines if Sky Dance causes the ground bounce? I’ve been messing around with that move and I really don’t understand how it works.

The last hit causes the knockback, making the last hit whiff well give you that super long ground bounce/hard knockdown.
Easiest way I find to get it is from Prop Shredder > BC Teleport > Sky Dance or after a launcher, M M double jump M M H Sky Dance. Kinda delay the air series a bit, once you figure out the timing it’s really easy.
Also the timing/height for getting the ground bounce is different on like Sentinel and Nemesis than on normal sized characters (I think lol)

I’ve actually been using the ground bounce but I had no idea why I was getting it. The last hit whiffing is something I never would have thought of. Thanks. lol.

another easy way to gaurentee the second ground bounce is just to do launch, delay m h skydance.

my vanilla AA combo was herp derp launch, jump c xx killer bee, launch delay mh sky dance, cold shower stinger blah blah blah beehive super.

Yeah but that knockdown does 2 things. It causes a groundbounce, where you can do reverb shock and jetstream. After that, it’s just a really long hard knockdown state and you can OTG with the last hit of revolver

What assist are you using for Mags?

Welcome mixups:
Early Acid Rain and then teleport j.S xx Hammer - simple and easy to use. The opponent is forced to block correctly bc Acid Rain keeps them locked down. j.S is still very unsafe so cancel into Hammer to put Dante at + frames on block.

Acid Rain xx Devil Trigger, Acid Rain - An extension of the first one just incase you expect the opponent to block the cross-up. Depending on your timing, Dante can be thrown to avoid the second Acid Rain mix-up. If they dont however, the second Acid Rain keeps them locked down on the ground so you can do mix-ups as well instead of just cross-ups.

(depending on assists)Jump fwd+call assist, dash back and do jH - Basically, the incoming character cant be thrown unless they perform an action (press any button) so when they come in, they either have to take a hit or block (besides Sent who has Hyper Drive). But if they block, they risk being thrown. With this method, you fake a throw/hit attempt and take away the risk of Dante being thrown. Then they must block (if they didnt try to hit you) Dante’s jH plus whatever assist you called. This works wonders with Ammy’s Cold Star.

There was also one that PR Rog used at EVO but I cant remember it right now.

Resets:
Grapple - causes a forced neutral tech

cr.L after any bounce - causes the opponent to pop up

Not exactly resets, but depending on the length of your combo, some normals will make the opponent pop out. Bold Cancel the normal and you can attempt an air throw.

Holy crap, I finally got BCing down after 2 days of practicing (inputting :s: + :atk: xx volcano during stinger’s animation). It totally opened a new world to me regarding Dante. This is going to be fun.
Been trying out Smexy’s BnB from the first page but I feel like I can do more.

Question about this sequence:
Stinger xx :s: + :atk: xx :u: :s:
Is the :u: portion a really short jump where the :s: brings Dante back down immediately? Same jump height as TKing moves like Killer Bee or Hammer?

I have a scenario that keeps coming up and I’m not sure how to address it properly - I play Dante/Wesker/Doom.

I use Beam Assist + Missiles a lot, and my opponents normally have to superjump to avoid it or attempt to get in. When i try to time my s.M for anti-air, I seem to get beat out for some strange reason (I feel like I’m waiting too late for the anti-air). The question I have is: is there a particular timing that I need to have down to anti-air superjump attempts consistently? Or is there a height that I should watch for before attempting my anti-air?

Another question > When I use Beam + Missiles > DT to get in, what’s a good way to punish or mixup people who superjump to escape? I don’t mind wavedashing under people to force left/rights, but characters like Wesker, Zero, Taskmaster have air normals with hitboxes that hit behind them which makes this difficult.

Does anyone have Spider-man match up experience? Got bombed by spider-man/task/deadpool i handled deadpool, and task like water but when it came to spider man i went completely brain dead and kept getting mixed up by web zip over head attack, spacing me out with web balls and web sling, - web zips all over the damn place lol. My team is Dante/Virgil/Trish (Y/B/Y). never thought i’d get stomped out by a bug… lol
