For how long are we going to hug SF’s balls, yes it’s a great series by why do so many people make a direct comparison all the damn time. The smash series is it’s own entity, with it’s own set of play mechanics and what not.

I’d like to start off this by saying I find it hilarious that you basically just said “Smash Bros broke the fighting genre mold.” In that, man, I couldn’t agree more.
Why is it that you spend half of your efforts tossing around “It’s not a fighting game!” and then when people finally dissect your brokeass logic and tell you you’re full of shit, your immediate retaliation is in the form of “WELL IT’S NOT AS GOOD AS SF!!!11!11FIVE11!!”
I mean, god, completely ignoring the fact that your one pristine argument of “There’s no Hadoken”, why does “Good” or “Bad” factor into this at all? Why do you feel the need to say “Don’t rank it up with SF”. Who’s ‘ranking’ anything? What are you even talking about? Did anyone say it was ‘better’ than Street Fighter? How is it “Breaking” the fighting genre?
You can’t even justify your own logic. I’d be more than happy to disagree with you on the subject of Smash as a fighting game but you’re not even really arguing, you’re just sputtering and stamping your foot and refusing to budge.

I play smash, I dont consider it a fighting game. Like rik said, Its its own entity. Just dont rank up so high up that it surpasses sf.

Like it or not, Smash is the most played fighting game out right now (and I’ll keep calling it a fighting game until someone makes an argument saying it’s otherwise. and not some idiot shit like “lol, gta has punches”) so why are we debating? It’s going to keep getting called one and played more than others regardless of what anyone says.

so I’m going to just say that Mystic is a fanboy and stupid and ugly and Street Fighter is just an outdated fighting game that is only even considered competition material because nobody knows to switch games and go play something new and creative and unique.

EDIT: To clarify, this isn’t my view as I happen to like II Turbo and IV, but I’m just proving a point about Mystic’s argument.
Smash is a good fighting game… that’s all there is to it. Your personal opinion about liking it or not does not factor into the equation. For instance, I really do not enjoy MvC2 or 3S but I fully admit they are good fighting games. I will trash on them for fun sometimes but I know for a fact they both have their good sides, especially since the competitive community is really solid. Don’t let your personal bias blind you from the good sides of a game, especially if you aren’t even willing to explore what the game has to offer.
Before people even call me a “Nintendo Fanboy” Brawl is my secondary fighter, my main being GG. I also enjoy playing ST, certain KOF games, SC, VF(though I’m not even close to good yet), CVS2, AH, SFA2 off the top of my head.
Just play what you want to play and have fun. Bashing other people who are a part of our own community is just a waste of time.
