An apology to all of the sf community
I couldn’t find a gun in the apartment so I decided “dammit, guess i gotta suck this one up”. I feel like shit, utter trash, after today. I would not have ever seen that coming.
I would like to give a background to why I decided to host this tournament at york with rooms I did not rent out, or “book” (which means money anyways). I come to sf community from the super smash bros brawl community (which is terrible btw) and we use to meet at the exact rooms we were at today for some casual matches. These casuals were epic, too much fun. But eventually they died out but people still went every week to play casual matches. Up until today, these casuals have been happening for either two or nearly two years and we have only been notified by the caretakers at around 11:30pm to leave. Never have we been kicked out like today in the past.
Very recently one member of the brawl community decided why not use those rooms for tournaments as well because the brawl community was dying out due to lack of tournaments and hype. Last week the first tournament happened, a Brawl + tournament ( a modded version of brawl) of only 10 people.
Now brawl is a VERY slow paced game with the average ROUND being 5 minutes. But hey, if they can host a tournament within that time frame for a shitty game, why not have a tournament for a much faster paced, better game? This is why I decided to do what I did. And today it looked very fucking promising but it is quite unfortunate that this happened.
I would like to apologize very very much to all you guys who came out today, I know for most it was a fucking mission. I know that I shouldn’t even show my face to this community but I ask for one more chance. I need to make it up to you guys and I also must redeem myself. I am really good at hosting, I have hosted four big (big according to smash) tournaments and they were all successful. I made this mistake today because I thought it would have been great for all of us to enjoy a tournament with no venue fee because these tournaments can get costly. But it seems everything is a bitch so I will get a proper venue with venue fee for next time but I ask that all of you show up again. Trust me, I’m good, and we could all always use more tournaments for experience.
Man I really hate myself right now…once again sorry guys…
