Lol I have to agree with this one.
Yes the converters supports PS2…Best results are the PS1 digital controllers though they are the most proven converter PCB’s out there…But im sure it will still work.
And for the Minor’s and wrist bands…There is too much on the line for them to be letting minors run around…Hence when your at the strip club and you see wrist bands…there not floating around unless there on stage other wise there in the back till there called up again.
The only reason I bring this up is that if someone who is under 21 makes it to the finals, but then 5 o’clock rolls around, what happens?
Seems like if you’re under 21 it should be you planning for this, not the venue.
What i’m saying though is that lets say a big group of people show up and all enter and the tournament goes past 5, now what happens if one of those players is under 21?
get an extension cord and play outside
I’m moving up to Portland on Aug 1st, and am totally going to be there. Been a large fighting game enthusiast for 15 years, but I’ve lived in small communities all my life and am excited to be moving to a more populated area.
Went to GK when I was in town last year and loved it!
This will be my first real tourney, hoping to make some friends and learn a lot!
Then they’re screwed. GK is very strict about not letting people under 21 stay on the premises when alcohol is being served.
Can we make sure that we are clear on the rules! Winners,Loser’s, and Grand Finals are BEST 3 OUT OF 5 none of this non-sense stuff of 2/3. We had plenty of time before and we should have plenty of time again. To due anything less would be a mis-justice… and it is the STANDARD OF TOURNAMENTS.
I know there is gonna be salt about that but its whatever. Shit needed to be said.
I like long sets when we have time but what you describe has never been a standard. It’s always either 2/3 LF+WF and 3/5 GF or 3/5 LF+WF and 4/7 GF. Careful what you put in all caps bold…
No way. Just WoW. 3/5 for both winners/losers/Grand finals… You even said so yourself when they tried to cut it off when you were down 2-1 in winners finals last tournament to BHH, dont flip the switch now…
:shake:
Actually I’m pretty confused now too because it looks like that WF and LF at EVO were 2/3…
Recent standard has been 2/3…used to be 3/5
So ive asked around…And it really comes down to tourney directors preference…But in this case…what do the people prefer?
Also for the minor’s and the 5’o clock deadline…This is why we START EARLY to end early…So far time has not really been an issue…we finished all brackets basically at 3:30 last time and had two set ups playing casuals running only stream matches for the final matches. Angel and myself like to run nice tight tourneys trying to keep the action going so there isnt alot of sit around time…This is also why I try to have as many set up’s as possible…I dont think time has really been an issue at our past 3 events now…Just a matter of me wanting to go home when things have wrapped up.
Go by recent standards, obviously.
Gonna try to make this. Yo I got a certificate from Slugfest 3 that I didn’t cash in. Can I cash it in? Lol. Its only $5 but it’d be awesome cuz that’s like half entry fee.
That was because BBH and I both asked and were told (I think by Slash) that it was 3/5. It doesn’t matter if he was right or not, that’s what BBH and I agreed to before the set started. Based on that being 3/5 I expected the grand finals to be 4/7. That’s the key here. The grand finals is always a bigger set than the semis. Evo used to be 3/5 WF/LF and 4/7 GF. Now it’s 2/3 WF/LF and 3/5 GF. It has never been 3/5 for all those.
Its possible that they might take it for there house fee…But I couldn’t help you in the tourney fee.
Been a lurker for awhile here… think I’m gonna head out and make this my first tournament. Gotta start sometime
