Oh yeah, I know it was streamed during revelations but where in the archives is it? It’s a lot of footage to go through and I’d appreciate it if someone could tell me where/when it is.
Oh my GOD, Peacock’s level 3 super has to be one of the best supers in fighting game history. Please tell me you guys saw that (and the Combo Exhibition in general).
Girl also gets points for ROAD ROLLA DA.
EDIT: Wow, it’s not even posted a page away from me, talk about brainfart. But still, AMAZING. Peacock even says “Good grief” during her football move. All her actions are so unique, hard to tell which are specials and which are just normals/command normals. I know the three shot revolver is a special, thats about it.

It’d be funny if the steamroller just did that much damage in the final release, just for the sake of trollin’ us. lol
I love how much damage stuff does! Mvc3 damage is no fun…
That was intended by mike.
It really isn’t bad at all. Single teams have 210% health, and do 210% damage. So yes a single character could kill one character on a 3-man with one combo if they use some meter, but then the whole issue is that singles have way less options. It basically takes about 3-4 combos to kill you, and 3-6 to kill them.
i do think the game looks a little slow. it’s like blazblue where the speed of the game doesn’t seem to match the style of the gameplay.
210% more health or 210% health?
It certainly seemed as if one man teams had more than “a little more than double” health in the E3 build. I could be mistaken.

Since I was guessing everywhere recently and we tweaked it a bunch of times based on playtests, I decided to actually look at what we ended up with. Heh.
Currently (since before E3, so this has been true in all public builds):
1v1, 2v2, 3v3 -> everyone has 100% health
1v3 -> single char has 175% health, 200% dmg (seems like a lot more, doesn’t it? It’s not…damage/life is a very delicate thing. ::cough:
2v3 -> team of two has 133% health and dmg
1v2 -> single char and team of two both get the previously listed boosts (175/200 and 133/133)
(And that’s “133% health”, so if your initial health is 100, you’d have 133. Not “133% more health”, which would be 233 total.)
mike, i have some little questions, perhaps its not to much trouble to answer them
does all the chars share the same amount of health like GG with different defense multipliers or do they have different values for health like mvc3 and bb?
and do you use damage ala sf scaling or proration values per move like GG?
ah I see, for a second I thought I just completely misheard you at Rev lol
Question: How do you feel about flight-capable characters? Based on the concept art we’ve seen it doesn’t look like anyone would be able to… but do you think its a possibility for future characters?
It’s like this in marvel as well, that’s what allows you to cancel a launcher into a ground super by tiger knee-ing it.

- Launcher sj-cancel ground special is also in SF3:2i and they removed specials but kept supers in 3s.
- Flight…how do you know it’s not possible based on the concept art? (^.^)
- Defense/life - currently same life same defense. If/when that changes it will be different life values, same defense…but if a grappler can stand on her own as a playable character instead of being handicapped, why give them more health?
- Damage scaling - same across the board; certain moves have specific proration, but so far it’s very very few to prevent odd situations.
Also, don’t post questions in multiple places, it’s just annoying. If I don’t answer you, I could possibly be doing something like, I dunno, working on the game… :^)
thanks for answering, and sorry, is just that until recently it was more probable that you would answer something on DL than here
i have another doubt but its more about the programing on the infinite detection, i assume that you used some sort of heuristic algorithm combined with a state transition system to determinate if the current combo falls under the loop category? is this correct or there was a more “simpler” solution than that
edit
i have another one
do the chars have different weights that affect the way that you juggle them, or do they behave the same
Speaking of flight, is there any chance of there being unique airdashes such as 8-ways, parabolics (Morrigan), etc?
Those crazy aerial maneuvers were some of my favorite things about the Marvel series.

The Jojo parody was sweet.
There sure is a low barrier to entry right now. rimshot
Seriously though, I’d say this year is definitely the best time to get the title out the gates. Wait to next year and now you start having to worry about a potential new Guilty Gear announcement as a worst case scenario or at least a new Blazblue, 3D fighters getting hype as their release dates gets closer, and other potential threats.
Am I seeing jump installs?
This. Currently it seems like the game has both high health not counting ratio differences and like mid-low speed. That’s kinda setting up some long and draggy matches. No hard feelings, just saying what I’m seeing.
Every character shown so far has had a unique air-dash actually… 0_o

Character weights - different weights, yes.
Jump installs - you can airdash/doublejump after superjumping anyway.
Airdashes - 8 way, probably not. 5 way, can’t be tooooo specific…but as Firekid points out, all the announced characters have unique ones.
Infinite detection - your doubts are your own. Having the system invites people to try to break it, and it hasn’t broken so far. Feel free to guess, though, and point out problems with how you think it works. (^.^) I’m willing to record video, since you think you can create a counterexample without having played the game…
Speed and health-vs-damage - give the game time to evolve. It’s not even out yet! The guys who played on the stream had less than ONE DAY to practice.
Look at early MvC2 matches to see what I mean. There are time-ups galore, whereas now matches are over inside 45 seconds. Actually a lot about the damage values and scaling uses MvC2 as a basis…and we do playtests weekly or even more often than that. Dying is not a problem, heh.
i guaruntee you that there will not be a GG announcement for a good long while, because if there was it would mean instant death to BB BELIEVE IT.
