Just finished off a first to 21 with Minority and I gotta say that it was pretty fun. Though the only constructive criticism I would like to throw are quite simple and I feel would help him immensely. First things first is throwing more. There were multiple times you had me in particular blockstrings that would have ended up to big damage had you followed up with a throw from Fortune, and several times you missed the throw into Furserker Barrage. So hit that training mode and work on that. Your footsies are pretty good but improvement is needed with crossing up and being slightly predictable, though the usage of the head was spot on and caught me off guard a few times as I don’t really fight Fortunes like that per say.
Also learn to be patient, there were a lot of times I felt that you were getting frustrated and mashing out supers whenever I put you in a reset opportunity. Takes things slow and methodical friend, slow and steady is the way to go whether things are going your way or not. Mix up your rekkas more and make sure to space them properly otherwise you will end up putting yourself into a position you didn’t need to be in simply because you messed up or you were too direct. Mike Z gave Fortune and overhead and a sweep for a reason so use them accordingly and you can’t go wrong. Along with proper assists, personally I find Fortune and Bella to be BFF’s especially with how Fortune can get many mix-ups, resets and safe options when she is backed with Cerecopter and they DHC pretty well. Especially when you do Showstopper DHC into the Fifth of Dismember, Feral Edge into Dynamic Dynamo, Furserker Barrage into Dynamo. The list goes on and on and the opportunities are there so don’t be afraid to experiment.
The only other criticism I can offer is lets play some more in a the future and see if we can improve our playstyles, sure I’m not as amazing as Pali or any of the other more experienced members of SRK who have those computer like reflexes. But I have no issues offering a helping hand when its called for and you have more than earned it, plus I feel confident enough to hold my own pretty well. ^^
It was fun! I have to say I have never ever played anyone who throws as much as you lol it felt like I was going up against zangief everytime I got too close! I didn’t know how to handle it! Then after several matches I thought I caught on well enough, but nope, I could never tell when one combo was going to end with the throw into another one lol I’m not much of a thrower in any fighting game, and I should really try to use them more often. I guess I’m just unsure of timing and spacing and what not. And every time I expected an air throw were the times it didn’t come and when I wasn’t, they came lol
Patience, yeah I could definitely use some haha I get so antsy and just want to dive head first on in. Some of those supers I was like “no! Wtf?! No I didn’t mean it!!” Gotta be more patient with those and waiting for hit confirms. I sometimes get in the mindset of ssf4 and trying supers on wake up or thinking it’ll catch someone off guard if I do it randomly, and most of the time it doesn’t work lol Cerebella is one I haven’t tried out much! I might have to do some fiddling with her. Thanks for that tip! Filia and Fortune have been my go to gals, but I love playing with Valentine and Double. Will have to try Bella too.
I’m totally down for more matches with you in the future!! You have a play style like I’ve never seen and I saw some bad ass stuff from you tonight. It was awesome. If you’ve got headset, I’m down for chatting over rounds too if you want! Thanks for the tips

Yea I do have a headset and was using them most of the night, though I can’t really tell if others have headsets unless I speak but sure lets do what we can to help each other out.

Well just played a few rounds with ciscokid_4. 7-15 normally I do alot worse but that peacock is nuts thank god for Valentine’s savage bypass or i wouldnt have gotten in for anything. if anybody is still up for some matches just message me.

So these past few 20 matches really show something about my characters. The only reason why I won previous matches was because I was fighting people who probably didn’t understand how to block against my attacks. Now that I fight people who understand their characters better then I do, I’ve come to realize that even when I do get a hit, my combos are complete shit and I have no clue how to get Painwheel onto the enemy and cause pressure, which when I try only results in me getting punished dearly with a possible touch of death combo… Everyone is able to 1 touch of death me and I"m barely even able to take off half a life bar. Obviously this Fillia combo I have is not cutting it and I am going to have to stop using it and learn a different one that ACTUALLY does damage… It really depresses me and I have no clue how to improve these problems. I’m getting depressed over a game, good job self.
I don’t know, maybe I’m just tired and this is just getting to my head. Maybe I’ll feel better in the morning…

Try Painwheel/Filia instead. Painwheel really loves going in with an assist to cover herself. Hairball HK is probably the best thing for locking down and setting up your mix-up, Updo can also do the job. Painwheel is also extremely good at killing once you learn her loops and resets, and she builds a lot of meter. Filia anchor, meanwhile, uses the meter really well to increase her damage output or escape dangerous situations.
Rest is usually the best thing to do when you feel like you’ve hit a wall and helps you recharge so your mind would unconsciously think of solutions to many problems. Kinda like how when a writer is stick at a certain portion of their story and they have no idea of how they can move forward, they usually sleep on it and it does wonders. As I said before Brand, winning and losing comes hand in hand and the most important thing is that your able to come up with your assessment after several games and thinking hard about it. Trust me you not the only one to have los this morning, heck I only stole 3 or so games off of WingZero and admittedly I was nodding off on a few of them because of a long day and me foolishly not taking a nap beforehand to recharge.
Doesn’t mean I still didn’t do my best to at least try, but them be the breaks. All we can do is try to look up optimal combos that can do excellent damage and work on that, though of course that is much harder than it looks and sounds. But I know we can do it so it will just simply take time is all. An make sure not to take those loses to heart, its that sort of thing that can make or break a player and cripples your gameplay and put you in an unhealthy frame of mind of depression that won’t help anyone. Especially you.
May I also recommend watching videos of players who are using your particular characters and making note of what they are doing, from what they are not? I can direct you to a video that could give you an idea of what combos you should be doing with Fillia, though Painwheel may be a bit harder but its there all the same. All you gotta do is find it.

Also, Painwheel combos are not hard, just ask a good painwheel for their bnb and they’ll give you it, two days latter, viola! You’ve got a ton of fucking damage.
