I had my nephews come over to stay at my place last couple of days. I was playing Guilty Gear XX AC yesterday morning when they came up from breakfast and they were like, “OMG that game was so cool! We were playing that last night! Can you show us how to play?” So yesterday I was teaching my nephews how to play Guilty Gear, lol. They come from a Smash Bros. background when it comes to fighting games so a few concepts of 2D fighting were totally foreign to them (like holding back on the d-pad to guard). They didn’t have much trouble adjusting though…they already figured out some sick Dust combos lol.
pretty sure I’m not the only one missing the boat here, so I’ll ask. Is this supposed to be in reference to a SG move? I’d guess Para’s j.HP, but apparently that’s not it. The only other thing I can think of is Fortunes j.HK (due to the tiny blue hurtbox and the arc) but that doesn’t make sense with the hair and “sword”. So, instead of making me continue to overthink this, can I have the punchline?
its reaaaaaalllly easy. the oki game and reset game are pretty fun and feel like they have the potential to get pretty deep,
but everything is super easy to execute.
The game could definitely use a few extra buttons (I don’t think it would hurt the simplicity or approachability i they had), and some of the mechanics I think could use polishing.
Maybe because its easy and I’m bad at the vidya, but I’m really digging P4A. It’s got some weird mechanics (Auto-air turn around), but I feel a lot more in control of what I’m doing in it, and that’s always gratifying. Also I win sometimes.
Also Girly, who are you going to main when they release “Bad Bitches: Redheads with Swords and Sword-like Objects”?
