This is the better stuff.
You don’t even know.
Can’t it be all of those things?
akira is the only answer
Yeah, the wrong one.
So what you’re both saying is…Money matches.
What I’m saying is jokes.
I’ve been reading some manwhas… some of them are cool like Kubera or Gangsta
Also this Chunchu seems ok… but for random fun I usually read Beelzebub.
And Jojo its a lot of chapters, but they’re awesome.
Comic from Japan = manga.
Surprisingly, I have not yet read Akira. Have been meaning to for 8 years. Can never remember to get around to it.
There are lots of other good seinen though. It’s just you have to wade through endless crap to find them.
you can read it online on some site, I think, if you are into that kind of thing.
its really amazing, considering how much of it there is, and how it was all done by one guy.
the paneling is amazing, he is the best at really giving the reader a sense of motion, and the pacing is relentless. if you have seen the movie, expect something much different in plot progression. Its just great. Great great great.
movie is amazing as well, probably the best animated film other then Princess Mononoke, and I find it really cool the original artist got the chance to direct/write the film to make sure his vision went uncompromised
Its really weird how my top thing in both comics/animated film are manga/anime, but other then those few things, I really just don’t like what the medium has to offer.
Are we talking about manga now? If this is the case then you are all incorrect, the defining pinnacle of the art form is Yotsuba&! And anyone who says otherwise knows nothing of joy
/hyperbole
Naw but seriously, seinen is cool and all, but it is hard to find good seinen manga (its very satisfying when i do, though) but i’ve personally taken a liking to more slice of life style series, cause, i dunno, maybe ive gotten tired and actiony manga that takes itself too seriously. Especialy when it feels targeted at teens
Oh, and i like everything by inio asano. That guy has some insane stuff.
alright enough anime, time to take a 180.
Favorite Hannah Barbera cartoon go.

This show is like, the epitome of the Hannah Barbara principles in their effort to all but kill western animation. But it is hilariously awful.
fuck yeah that’s the gooooood stuff.
Did someone say graphic novels?

akira’s better. trussssst meeeee
Dick Dastardly is clearly the best racer. He gets in front of everybody despite spending 90% of his time out of the car.
On a serious note, I pretty often go back and re-read La Liste 66 but a cursory googling makes it difficult to show off some of my favourite individual pages.
I can’t remember who wrote it, but there’s a Mignola(Circa 1991) penciled retelling of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser that I’m also quite fond of.
Akira is really really boss though, so it’s hard to deny it’s on the top of a lot of Manga lists, if not always the premier.
As a guilty pleasure I do like Tsutomu Nihei’s stuff, because the ridiculous story is drawn out into 200 pages of gorgeous backgrounds. He’s an architecture student and he will not let you forget that.
Japan Tengu Party Illustrated is my favorite manga (and I can probably guarantee nobody here has ever heard of it).
Interesting woodblock-esque art style and a thematically deep story. Will probably leave you dumbfounded upon your first read, but it’s an immensely beautiful work. It flows like a piece of actual literature rather than the typical comic book format.
