Frankly, I kinda don’t want MLP:FiM to get that much attention. The more exposure the game gets, the more likely it is that Hasbro will cease and desist it.

Okay resent the email, hopefully this is much better XD
Are you insane? Just curious.
Melee is barely being overshadowed. But the difference is that Brawl will die, while melee will not. All the brawlers will move onto SSBU, while all the meleers will stay right where they are. And if the Brawlers DON’T move on, then they’ll just split their community and probably have much smaller audiences than Melee does until it fades from tournaments. Numbers aren’t really that significant, especially when the difference is small, to a community that hosts ALL its own events. Brawl and eventually SSBU may be bigger, but the difference is that they will probably not survive their successors. Brawl will be killed by SSBU and SSBU will be killed if it has a successor, but Melee has already shown that it won’t die what with surviving and even thriving in Brawl’s presence (and the scene really hasn’t shrunk anyways, competitive gaming is just bigger nowadays so of course Brawl will see a bigger audience being a newer game) so why should SSBU be any different?
EDIT: Actually does anyone familiar with the statistics in smash know if Brawl is actually bigger? I just went and looked at attendance for a bunch of nationals and they appear to be pretty much the same in terms of attendance, the exception being when Brawl was sponsored by MLG and of course, before brawl existed.
Oh, getting off topic I guess. SG is pretty cool. I’d def play more if I had more people to play with. Not fond of online due to the lag I had to deal with playing Project:M online, and before that, bawrl. Even if SG has less lag, I just feel it’s a general forced reduction of skill for both players by playing online and I’m not fond of fighting people when they and I aren’t at our best tbqh.
Eh, I don’t think Brawl will die. But I do think it will be smaller than Melee once SSBU is released. Probably not as small as the SSB64 community. Props to those guys. SSB64 is wonderful.

Don’t. They’re part of the group donating for this too, after all, and MLP very easily could have CRUSHED any of the other games if Mane6 had not spoken up. There’s no reason to be needlessly insulting.

That’s his schtick.
But SG online is really freaking good. Are you familiar with GGPO? If you have the PS3 version of SG, you should really give the online a try.
lol
You have no idea how little I care. Bronies are living garbage.
This guy is probably your best chance of winning. This post is basically saying ‘oh and if brawl players are reading this, we don’t want your help, thx’

What system do you have it on? The online is pretty damn good and feels like you are pretty much playing with someone right next to you granted you both don’t have dial up or live on the other side of the planet.

Post patch SG netcode is pretty amazing. First time I tried it, jumped from training mode directly into it and took a round for me to register that I was actually in a match, and this was like 100+ ms.
You guys have made a believer out of me though, can’t even be pessimistic about it. Inspired me to go back to selling SG to the locals after the complete shut-out of last year. gogo SG!
I have it on xbox
I don’t own a ps3
Xbox is generally better for most things, which is why I have it. That’s not the case with SGs apparently.
Might rebuy it though for ps3 if my roommate next semester has his ps3 up here.
@trekiros
I wasn’t bashing brawl. I’ve just noticed that brawl players aren’t picky about their game mechanics. Most of them will be fine with moving on. The difference is that melee players WANT fast paced gameplay with the most complex movement possible. Brawl players appear to be satisfied with… well whatever it is brawl has it doesn’t seem to have much lol
Please, let’s keep the discussion focused on Skullgirls. We’re really not ahead by much so we have to keep the money coming with one or two more bombs if possible.
So I read that turtle post.
Yo, my nigga, I couldn’t cosign HARDER.
I love the lore of skullgirls.
The secrets behind the Medici family, including Cerebella, Vice Versa, the Medici heads, Black Dahlia, and Filia.
I want to know more about Brain Drain and lab Zero in general.
I want to know more about Last Hope, because we do get a shot of them in Valentine’s story.
I want more fun winquotes from the characters, I REALLY LOVE when the sprites have personality and differing actions depending on who they’re playing.
Well, I managed to scrape together some money and make a very small donation. I wish I could send more, but I’m still in a bad situation, financially. -_-
The only reason Melee didn’t immediately die was because Brawl was a complete ass-garbage game. There is almost nothing that is tournament-worthy about that game at all. I was in the Melee scene and the Brawl scene when Brawl first came out. When Brawl came out, the first three-four months were basically dead for Melee. Nobody played it at all. And then when it was discovered how crappy and unfun Brawl truly was, people started going back, but pretty slowly. The fact that there are still more people playing Brawl despite it being such a terrible unbalanced game shows how much the newest iteration has a preference in the public eye.
If SSBU ends up being any good at all, people won’t go back to Melee, trust me. Every new player will want to play SSBU, that means that’s where the attendance will be, that means that’s where the money will be, and that means that’s what everyone will play. Melee will probably end up like 3S: revered, but no more real competitive scene, at least not large enough to be worth majors.
im just waiting for the patch on 360 so i can start taking it to locals. i wonder if the numbers would be higher right now if 360 patch was available.
Yo, are we actually sure the deadline’s been moved out to the end of the month? The Shoryuken update on the 21st still gave a 29th deadline, and the new one announcing Skullgirls’s lead hasn’t said anything to the contrary.
I don’t want to plan on a Final Fundraiser Salty Cupcakes and then find out that it’s two days late.
Edit: Also, could we drop this conversation speculating on what will happen when SSBU comes out, or at least move it to a different thread? It’s unproductive and antagonizing.

I found a tweet from MrWizard, so that should count as evidence enough (can’t find the official announcement though): https://twitter.com/MrWizardSRK/status/294708977596518401
