Skullgirls Nominated for 8th Slot at EVO

I wish both Melee and SG could make it, they’re two of my favorites lol. Better than MK or SFxT easily.

At the end of a stream they’re doing +$3000 will be added to Melee. Melee will almost certainly get $11k by the end of tonight. That’ll be quite a lot of catching up to do.

I…I just wasn’t expecting this. I mean, holy shit. My optimism is fading, especially after the PM I just got from somebody. How are we supposed to catch up with 11k in 2 weeks???

Well, I can’t donate a single cent anymore. Underemployed, won’t get paid for a month, my car needs repairs. My wife says she’ll try to donate again when she gets paid but that may also be after the fact.

Most I can do is what I’ve already done which is spread the link as much as I can.

Not sure I want to go to EVO if SG doesn’t win.

Exactly, Why do this when there is a couple weeks left? Although very impressive to rack up that much $ in a short amount time, (It shows there community is pretty passionate) would have made more sense if they played there organized move much closer to the deadline to decrease the chances of the likelihood of an organized comeback.

Dude don’t say that! Even if we lose, we can still support a side tournament! I just don’t think I could stay to watch a main tournament of Melee at evo. My heart will probably not be able to take it.

Also sorry about the personal issues dude.

b-b-but! We can still win! I won’t give up! Things may look dark! BUT I WON’T GIVE UP!

people in smash community are aware of that and will continue to donate and we have peeps waiting to snipe if need be as well.

Let’s keep it going. The worst that can happen is we don’t get Skullgirls on the main stage. We still get to show how much the SG community loves this game. More importantly, it’s all going towards Breast Cancer Research. It’s a win win.

I still have no idea why you’re posting here.

Yes. That was an excellent use of a smashball.

But we can comeback! Let’s start building some meter, 3S style and start hitting them with some DHCs

Time to cry again? That was fast, lol. >_>
ggwp smash ppl.

Guys I’m going to be perfectly honest. I’ve been trying to carry our community to victory through inspiration, hope, and just trying to raise our moral, but I just don’t see anyone doing much besides the ones that are doing things (which doesn’t seem much in itself), and this is starting to exhaust me. Just the pressure and stress of trying to motivate our community is starting to wear off and my optimism is dropping. I just don’t know what to do guys.

I will keep supporting SkullGirls till the end, but I don’t think I can keep trying to support us. This massive strike seems to huge to fix if nobody seems to want to join in my passion to try and fix it.

I don’t know what to. By the time we do catch up, they could be probably at like 20,000.

It’s only 14 days left, and I’m tired, so very tired.

NO I’m not crying, but I’m becoming tired. I can’t keep trying to carry our community.

You know what, you’re right. this thread offers me nothing anymore. good day sirs.

^ This man here. This!

@BrandX can I just…can I give you a hug? I feel like you could use a hug

NO don’t fucking pity me. I"m doing my best to keep fucking fighting. I’ve never been against such a huge army, I just wish there was more time. I wish that this outcome never happened.

It’s ok brandx, even if Melee wins, soon as the EVO people get rid of SFxT there’ll be a slot for your game

Gee people, you all seem to have your panties in a bunch over the catching up deal. How do we catch up you ask?

CATCHING
THE FUCK
UP

Yeah, when the capcom fanboys will stop jerking off to anything capcom fucking spews out.

Sorry, didn’t mean to snap at you. I’m just tired man. It’s hard trying to fight an army, it really is.

Sure. All we need is to get $8000 plus whatever they keep donating for the next two weeks in two weeks time.

Oh yeah, and we have to also have people willing and able to snipe last minute. For thousands of dollars, just in case.

There aren’t too many rocks in either of our actual communities, my friend. The problem is that there’s a huge difference between the online community and the true community: the players that attend tournaments and contribute to the bigger picture. The anonymity of the Internet allows people that do not even attend tournaments or casual-fests to feel like they belong without belonging, and bandwagon into some the most terrible things and causes imaginable. There are people that write and post disgusting, ignorant, hateful, stupid things on every forum about any subject you can imagine, and Smashboards & SRK are no exceptions. Really though, the majority of people passionate enough about fighting games to invest in traveling and attending tournaments are wonderful people, no matter the community. It takes a certain kind of mind, a certain kind of person to understand the joy of competition and how fighting games facilitate that competition in a truly unique and exceptional way. I’ve met plenty of people from SRK in my area and they’re all pretty cool and welcoming. You’ll find the same in just about any Melee scene, I assure you.
