I love Melee (Brawl too, but i can’t say that in public), but I donated to Skullgirls. Here’s to keeping the lead and getting our game to EVO!
Thats if we stop supporting the game, the game can’t turn things around if we ignore opportunities like this. Let Melee bask there glee at [S]APEX[/S] where they belong. Rather take my chances on a fairly new 2d fighter made by the community for the community over Melee
“Can’t say in public?” Well let me be the first then to say that as of now I like Brawl more than Melee and loads of other fighting games and feel no shame nor do I understand why I should. Lol at the person above you that clearly knows nothing about the SG community.
Oh god nevermind. Thefts at APEX Killed it.
If you don’t want the same fate at Evo then keep melee out *Kappa
All I going to say is if Melee is as active as you want it to be, there is no excuse for Melee to lose to a dead game. I’m sorry, there is guy submitted over 600 dollar for DOA. Your game is pathetic if you can’t beat a single digit attendance game then.
And this donation is about who can put their money with where they mouth is. If people donate over 3,000 dollar to SG, deal with it son. Bronies have show time and time again that they are willing to actually support something. They have proven that on NUMEROUS occasions that why their names are so popular. What harm has done by giving any game chance to be at EVO? And it’s charity to freaking breast cancer…come on now.
Darkstalkers 3 is totally on the list.
I thought you were exaggerating about thefts “killing” it but…

Put the trolls on Ignore and move on people.
Yeah its no joke. Sounds like large quantity of Theft both Personal and Sponsor Equipment. Thats Dissapointing
That really sucks for the dude that lost his equipment. pretty low and shameful for some bad apple(s) to ruin a good event for everyone else.
i don’t see how people can take advantage of others like that. shameful.
I’m not really sure how you measure a “good community” on anything other than by comparing interest with some sort of number. That is pretty much what we have going on right now with the drive.
Here’s 3 solid reasons why SG deserves your donations:
- Skullgirls a new game, still less than a year old. Support new games to show that we still want new fighting games.
- Skullgirls had massive side tournaments at SCR and Evo last year. The players are already there waiting to step up to the stage.
- Skullgirls is a traditional 2D fighter, with traditional mechanics that any Evo attendee can follow. This was why KOF13 was so exciting to watch last year, and the same concept makes SG a great spectator game. With other 8th options the Tokidos of the world can sleepwalk to a win with no practice (Guilty Gear), high level mechanics can only be seen if you are super practiced in the game (Virtua Fighter), and fundamental strategies aren’t even comparable to other fighters (SSBM). All of those things mean a boring finals and an excellent food break for me on Sunday. Save my seat for me?
I’m sure there’ll still be an Apex next year but they’ll probably have to do a donation drive.
Is it bad that when I heard of a massive theft of equipment the first thing I thought of was CORN?

But “best” attendance and “the most people” aren’t the same thing.
At any given time in most fighting games, there are maybe 50-100 extremely relevant players, the rest are fucking potmonsters.
I’d rather play a game where 50-100 people are godlike, and it’s just us, than be one of the 50-100 people relevant in a scene of thousands.
You have more people, but you also have way more potmonsters.
potmonsters still gives money to participate. From an econimc pov, i prefer receiving 200x the venues fee from potmonsters and 10x the venues fee from pro than 50x from pro.
I…I don’t give a single fuck about money here.
This is my hobby, I go to school for bioscience, I play fighting games for fun.
So it’s all about the money?
sfxt got in again, so yeah…
Yes, for all those greedy women with breast cancer.
No, but we can’t lie, Evo organizator need money to run this tournament, and they cant take a bet with a game like SG. We don’t know how much people will show up, also, most persons who join tourneys know they are somewhat good, no one will give like 30+$ to get destroy in the first pool round. And more people means naturally more talent
