-I forgot about VF5FS … gonna see if they have a release date set for it later. (If so , i’ll need to plan when i’ll be able to purchase it. Defiantly will try this one , seeing as i missed VF5.)
-Someone might say just wait for the next MvC3 , but that would be premature. I respect your wait and see approach. (It would make sense if more people took it as well , instead of throwing their money into a lagoon.)
I myself am not getting UMvC3 period however.

OT:
I liked many of your guys posts on the Single / Duo / Trio business. It (single , duo , trio) just sounds less complicated imo. (To each their own though , it will more than likely boil down to Filia 1 , Filia 2 & Filia 3 though some time after SkullGirls release.)

I’m hype about UMVC3, Persona 4 Ultimate and SF X Tekken, but Skullgirls will be my main game for sure. UMVC3 only if the netcode is any good and SF X Tekken I don’t really plan on playing on tournaments.

Persona, well, I don’t think there will be much of a scene around here, so yeah…

That was great please guys let’s use this!

I can’t wait to see this.

Ok, so then we all agree on Single (Character name), duo (Character name), and Team / Trio (Character name)? S-PE, D-PE, T-PE?

:open_mouth:

I do, looks good and sounds good.

D-Parasoul player here :sunglasses:

Just to chime in on the topics at hand here:

T-Ms. Fortune player here (if I understand the new terminology correctly :P). I’m pretty much hooked and want to get in depth with her. As for hyped games, Ultimate Marvel is seriously the only other fighter on the radar currently. I don’t have much opinion on SFxT, mainly because it lacks Makoto, seemingly overshadows everything else when it comes to Capcom games, and lacks Makoto. I’d like to try some BlazBlue/KoF just to get a taste of non-Capcom fighters but hey, money’s tight and I feel like Skullgirls will scratch that itch quite nicely.

I see what you did there. xD

I’m also looking forward to KOFXIII (huge KoF fan here), UMVC3 (Objection Overruled!) and now, unfortunately, to a lesser extend SFxTK, now mostly cuz I helped putting Poison in the game, way to kill the hype unnecessary systems. I’m not much into 3D fighters, but I’ll be looking at SC5 and TTT2 closely.

skullgirls and sc5

Aren’t you going to wind up calling them R1 filia and so on anyway?

Chibi, are the other mb players looking forward to the game? I wanna watch zar and zor and the rest of you guys again :frowning:

Yes. In fact there’s a MB tournament tomorrow and some of them are prime and ready to hear me go into an hour long rambling session of how god damn much I love this game and how MBAACC is going to be dropped quicker then Obama’s approval rate. Parasoul in particular has caught Zar’s interest, I hope to get many of the other Melty players into (to be honest I want most of them to jump ship, at this point I’m quite done with Melty).

:V

He-he just one page and we get our nomenclature. Thank you MyLifeIsAnRPG for keeping it rolling =]

Weeeeeeell, I guess all we need know is good abbreviations for characters’ names.
I noticed that 4 of 6 names based on two words. We can take advantage of this:
pea-cock (PC)
para-soul (PS) well “para” isn’t word, but “soul” certainly is
miss-fortune (MF)
pain-wheel (PW)

What are you guys think about it?

Also there is alternate for Ms. Fortune: (40).
I’ll explain: Ms. Fotune -> Fortune -> Forty -> 40. It’s kinda goofy, but I personally love to call her Forty =]

All is left are two characters:
Fillia (FL/FI)
Cerebella (CB/CE)
The reason behind my decision to use consonants instead of vowels is the fact that consonants are more informative (And when you have only two letters you don’t want to waste half of them on meaningless vowels IMO >_>)

What are your opinions will be?

You know what I think would be pretty funny in this game. If you counter your opponent after being stuck in a blockstring a voice says “PUNISHED” lol

The feature I want the most in this game is to be able to play it

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/8505/kappar.png

I think the first two letters will suffice. GG includes the vowels, as far as I know. It doesn’t cause any confusion. The only trouble that would come up is with Parasoul and Painwheel (and Panzerfaust too), so there’d have to be distinctions there.

So, that means we’d have:
FIlia – FI
Cerebella – CE
Parasoul – PA
Ms. Fortune – MF (just makes sense here)
Painwheel – PW (lolphoenixwright)
Squigly – SQ
Umbrella – UM

Potential DLC:
LeDuc – LD
Panzerfaust – PZ or PF
Big Band – BB
Beowulf – BE

Doesn’t work out too bad. I think it’s all up to discretion if the first two letters/syllables conflict.

As for game hype, I’m not really hype for anything. Being busy all the time kind of sucks that away. I am, however, looking forward to this game and UMvC3 to an extent. I’m just not on edge for any game to come out, and I’m probably just buying each game a little while (few weeks/month) after it’s released. A new Darkstalkers would get me hyped up, though.

I already call Ms Fortune MF even when talking about her vocally, I do the same with Miss Fortune in League of Legends.

But SG you know is trying to improve genre by reevaluating old stereotypes. I guess we should do the same thing.
You don’t want to leave Parasoul as PA because PA stands for 3 chars, but PS, PF and PW are strict. So you need to change all three not just two.

No offense to anyone but I will never call Ms. Fortune “40”. I did not like that name the second I saw ppl using it, lol.

Since we are talking about nomenclature, what are we gonna do for direction notation? The capcom standard QCB, HCB, etc or number notation 214, 63214, etc?

Please not numbers PLEASE NOT NUMBERS

Yeah 40/Forty is stupid

I’m using number notation, idgaf. There’s seems to be a lot of directional normals.
