i have the exact opposite idea of exeucution in regards to mvc2 tiers then mystic has. low tier execution is really easy. How do you think they are easier than the high tiers?
To mvc3, the game is still in its infant stages, higher execution characters that really are stronger will pull ahead in the long run(if its lasts)

I wouldn’t even say that the top tier in MvC2 requires less effort. It takes a lot of time to actually learn Mag’s, Sent’s or Storm’s shizz. IMO, it’s actually easier at lower levels to win with a mid/upper tier character (outside of Cable) that can control alot of space than with the four gods.

The low tiers do damage with really easy execution.

But then that damage kinda sucks.

I agree, but that’s high level top tier play you’re talking about. At those same levels, and especially against top tiers, low tiers are very very hard to actually win with.

This is really a SkullGirls thread?

I guess I shoulda taken that left turn at Albuquerque.

Bulletta cr.lk cr.lk xx cruel hunting says hi :stuck_out_tongue:

I cant wait to see more Valentine, I’m really excited to see what type of crap she can pull off.

40 or even 50 percent damage isn’t that bad in a 3 man tag team fighter where most of the top and god tier have infinites or 100% combos

Is it fair if I step in, as a person who plays MvC2 low tiers at tournament level as well as a developer on Skullgirls, and ask you all to possibly talk about something Skullgirls related?

well, the only 100% i know of that doesn’t count in resets or assists would be iron man. If we’re doing extra characters I could just say spiral/bbh/jugg THC to 200% if they throw out an unsafe assist.

edit: err… ya i tried to throw in some SG stuff, but i have questions and dont want to put them in here

I WANT MORE VALENTINE!

I believe Diet has the solution Mike.

Some Painwheel developer vidzzz maybe? ^______________^

Remember when we played mvc2 at the arcade? And I went 0-15? Good times. I need a rematch, I swear I’m better now >_>

I think that’s a fantastic idea. Why not grease the wheels a little so we’d have something new we can talk about… like, say… oh I dunno… MO VALENTINE FOOTAGE? XD

Since no one has cross posted this yet… Here’s a vain attempt to bring this cesspool back on topic. (Without just begging for more footage)

It looks like Valentine is potentially the new holder of the “Best Air-dash” title. The additional height should make cross-ups easier and make it more useful as a combo extender. Also if back dashes have invulnerability (I honestly forget if they do), BDIAD looks like a fairly safe way to start pressure strings.

Her IV-stand attack looks like it’s either a rekka, or has a two-hit optional follow up on hit. And her syringe throw (if that’s what I’m seeing at the beginning of the X-Play video) as fairly quick start up and can either be thrown without anything put into it or can be filled, then tossed later.

It didn’t LOOK as fast as Filia’s box dash stuff.
Do we know if Valentine has any movement options apart from the air-dash? Wait, maybe I should ask that in the Q&A thread…

I’ll definitely be glued to the SCR stream, anyway. Wish this game would get shown in Europe…

Revives dead bodies with defibrillator?

I think it was stated somewhere that the defibrillator was just used for her snap back. I could be wrong though.

I think “faster” was in reference to the start up between Val’s regular IAD and her BDIAD. Which means she probably has the fastest IAD start up out of the cast, even though Filia’s air dash speed is faster than Val’s. (This is all assumptions though.)

So I was right about using dead bodies for her body bag moves? yay me.

Every thing I learn about her I’m getting even more hyped, just like with Painwheel, I think this team was meant to be, assuming I can play them.

From that glimpse of Valentine I’m already very happy with the character and she’s already on my team! I loved that airdash angle, so dirty! ^ ^

Right now I can’t wait for a more thoroughly walkthrough of Painwheel (although I know pretty much all about her now) and Valentine’s moves.

So, you’re telling me you’re willing to put hours into a character potential weeks and months and then when you lose you won’t feel a type of way ? If that’s the case then why are you even playing the game if it doesn’t make a difference if you win or lose.

Have you even played MvC2 before ?

Clearly not at a level where he would be capable of expressing a single meaningful insight about the game.
