Skullgirls GD, Part 2 XD!

Definitely clear now when a combo ends and another begins.
I like the little pushblocking sound and the graphic/effect/animation for it.

Ahhh did you guys rework Cerabella’s voice? Her super sounds different, she sounds a little more…umph or is that just me? Either way I like it.

Watching the video a 3rd, 4th and 5th time.

The little shimmering effect of the water reflecting the lights is awesome. The level of detail is truly outrageous. The lights shining on the water through the floor cracks <3

Loving the new details we’ve been getting lately, the new opening animation, the combo descriptors, the NPCs, etc, really cool shit. I must say though, this is the most boring FNF I’ve seen, maybe it’s because only 1 super connected the whole time. Maybe the quality is lousy and I am not about to appreciate it, I dunno, am I the only person who feels this way? I felt the initial fortune reveal was far more interesting, and if I would have saw this first, my impression would be that she’s a melee character with a gimmick rather than the truly amazing unique character she is.

I agree. Not the most exciting gameplay and not the best treatement by IGN. They can’t even get the character names right and completely skipped the player names! SRK hooked Ms. Fortune up with a front page banner for most of the weekend, including during prime time Devistation stream hours. You guys should keep as much of your publicity in house as possible, because it’s already great!

Or possibly let IGN take your time machine back 7-8 years so they can be relevant again.

Well I still enjoyed watching it despite the slapdash treatment IGN gave it.

I was too busy looking at everything else. This FNF delivered in another way.

Those NPC’s were interesting.

I’m liking the new splash a lot and super grateful for some Filia gameplay. Kinda felt like she was forgotten for a while.

As far as the match goes I’d have to agree as well. Didn’t feel as epic as the others. That said actually sitting down with the intention of trying to have an epic match is a tough prospect. I’m glad to have the gameplay either way and thank you to the guys who sat down to give it to us.

Wish I could come see the game this weekend at NYCC, but the money gods have decided it shall not be. Are you guys coming to the East Coast any time soon after that?

Yup. I would like to see more Filia rushdown in future FNFs. I like how the characters have more voice samples now too.

I have to say all voices in SG are superbly well picked.

I 100% agree. Great care has been taken to get it right and it shows (sounds?) in not only the voice actors but the lines as well.

she seems like not the easiest character in the world to really explore, so i’m sure the vids will get better as time goes on.

It bothers me a bit that the fight starts as soon as the “SHOWTIME” text appears. I also miss the announcer saying “ACTION!” at the beginning.

Yeah the text still being on screen when you can act doesn’t seem right to me.

One thing I missed back from marvel 2 was walking towards your opponent at the start of the match. I’m not a fan of being able to jump or dash or anything, but being able to walk towards or away always built up the suspense of what’s going to happen once the match starts.

[]This was the first time my archaic laptop was able to watch a video at 60fps, so man that looked weird to me! :smiley: (At least I assume it was running at 60fps. Looked a hell of a lot smoother on SD than videos have looked for me in the past.) Gotta get me a better machine so I can appreciate these videos more in future!

]The fight itself was pretty meh. It seemed like the Ms.Fortune player (Scrub I assume?) didn’t really know how to use her and kept going after that one combo. Of course her being newer than the other characters makes players not being as familiar with her fairly logical.
[]The SHOWTIME! appearing over the fight irks me. Ever since Killer Instinct started the fight before the camera had fully zoomed in I’ve been against that sort of thing.Being able to move back and forth Marvel style during the text would be fine, but I dislike being able to actually fight. Small difference, but there you go.

Man I do not like the fact that you can start hitting buttons while the enormous “SHOWTIME” is still displayed on the screen. I was totally confused that Cerebella was already doing Titan Knuckle behind the text.

I do wonder if this gets yanked from IGN abruptly if they’ll be inclined to give the game a lower review when it comes out. After the whole thing with Gamespot and Gerstmann I don’t put anything past some of these sites.
