Haha, kept trying to land a combo I thought worked midscreen, I guess I need a new one since that one is too position dependant, everytime you just fell out of the second juggle, so went back to the simple one.

Master of dropped Valentine combos, getting there though.

Filia’s thighs are supreme, they have the right amount of meat.

Imagine if in the future SG have character specific intros like the old KOFs and CVS. It would be one of the most awesome ways to bring even more life to the character personalities/relationships.

Just imagine, Filia and Squigly back to back with Samson and Leviathan looking menacing at each other… and them EPIC HIP BUMP!!! And they take their positions.******

No one has been paying attention to Tumblr lately? A lot of the Clean Up artist have been posting various sprite animations, including Audrey(artist of the Ask Ms. Fortune Blog), Sprite37 and ligernekoka.

@ Mike re: Girlfriends & Tutorials:

She sat down with it over the weekend, and had some ups and downs. This is the first FG tutorial of any form she’s attempted and more or less the first time she’s taken any instruction on how to play a FG whatsoever. She was able to clear up through Chapter 3, Lesson 2, but got stuck on canceling specials/supers. She had also attempted Chapter 4 Lesson 1 but was not able to pass it. I tried to be as hands-off as possible, most assistance that I gave her was more of how to use an arcade stick than how to play the game. Here’s the points of feedback she gave on how it could be improved and what she liked/disliked:

[]She liked having to meet objectives multiple times in order to clear lessons. She actually felt it would have been better if things like the hit confirm lesson made you do the first couple points multiple times, not just the last one.

]Related, she said it’d be nice if after clearing a lesson, you had the option to enter a sort of practice mode where you could continue to do the objective of the lesson indefinitely, with it still confirming you had done it correctly but going on until you chose to exit.

[]She said that the instructions for the most part where very straightforward and easy to understand. However, she felt it would have been better if the tutorial was set up in a more linear fashion that forced you to go in order from Chapter 1 lesson 1 on, or at least when you finished Ch1L1 it directed you by default to continue to Ch1L2 and you could choose to go elsewhere if you wanted. Her first attempt at the tutorial she was choosing to do Ch1L1 > Ch2L1 > etc, and she missed several important things taught in Chapter 1 that needed to be applied later. She had a much, much easier time when she realized to go through the full chapters in order first.

]While the tutorial explains the notation of buttons and standing/crouch, it doesn’t appear to explain the ‘F’ and ‘B’ specifically in something like ‘s.B+HK’ and she was confused for a bit as to what it meant to the point where she did end up having to ask me. If something using a forward+button came up first it probably would have not been a problem, but the first instance being Parasoul’s B+HK confused her since there’s a B button on the 360 stick.

[]On the defensive tutorials, she really disliked how you were not able to move freely and could only block in place. She felt it was awkward being restricted, and also had issues where eventually she was pushed back into the corner, and had trouble reading the instructions in the text window because the sprites were blocking her view of it. This was an issue mostly on Chapter 2 Lesson 2.

]She found the way messing up resets you to 0/3 was initially frustrating, but ultimately more rewarding.

[]She thought it’d be nice if the offensive parts of the tutorial could give some feedback as to how close you were and where you went wrong when you dropped things. Like she could tell her timing was off which was causing her to miss the mark, but she had no idea if she was hitting a button too soon or not soon enough, and it’d be really helpful if the game could tell her which. In the same vein she eventually gave up on the special/super cancelling one because she had no trouble doing Hairball and Gregor alone, she was having trouble canceling one into the other and could not figure out where she was going wrong, which ended up getting frustrating enough to put it down.

]While she learned that QCB+HK was Hairball, and QCB+KK was Gregor Samson, a reasonable amount of time passed between when she did the specials/blockbusters tutorial in Chapter 1 and when she did the special/super canceling one in Chapter 3. The latter just says to do Hairball/Gregor, she would have liked a reminder on the actual inputs for those at that point.

]Chapter 2 is fantastic. Seeing her learn the defensive things, and taking things learned in early lessons and applying them to later ones was great. That said, you guys probably should tweak the throws tutorial, she was able to pass the teching part with pure mashing, she even recognized that herself and said “I probably didn’t do that right”.

So uhh hope any of that is useful, I’ll get back if she finishes it and has any more feedback.

No one has posted any Peacock stuff yet, or Cerebella sprites either. I’m waiting on a sprite of her doing Diamond Dynamo that has her skipping along forever.

The AI and the localization stuff are in Lua because you can’t learn much from those. Training wheels.

You probably won’t be uncompiling the move format or anything like that easily, it’s all jumbled together on purpose using custom scripting stuff. There’s no table of “when this move hits play this reaction” anywhere. Then again, if anyone ends up writing tools we’d probably use them ourselves! We currently don’t have a good sprite viewer outside the engine because it’s extremely complicated to render a sprite, since it’s not just palettized data. So best of luck. :^) Depending on what happens we may hire you, hah.
