Each time i fight against them, mainly parasoul, I just can’t even play or nothin. In any other fighting game i could find something that works against that shit, but in this i can’t think of anything. They just shut me down completely. Can’t rushdown, can’t zone, can’t jump. God forbid you block against Parasoul. I want to love this game, i really do, but unless i can find some way to get past these two i don’t think i’ll be having that much fun.
I really wonder how much the DLC characters will be. I mean, would a 20$ card be enough for both the game and Squigly and Umbrella? I mean, if they start coming 5$ a pop, that’ll get real expensive real quick.
For cereals?
How can this be ruining the game for you? This is the best part of a game, the discovery phase. Learning the match up bit by bit is so much fun right now since these characters are bran’ spankin’ new.
Especially match ups that seem really tough atm, it reminds me of how enjoyable playing Hakumen was in BBCT against Nu or Arakune, you had to play it near perfect to even stand a chance, and when you did it was oh so satisfying.
NO. Just put it the entire description in a spoiler if you insist on continuing to post these in a thread I HAVE TO read because people put useful info in it, rather than in a thread I can ignore. I already explained why, you could at least try and be helpful. Also take note (ha) that Big Band is probably a charge character. And spell “note” right.
I think it’s the fact that everyone and their mom plays the character and the fact that there are no lobbies in the game so i can’t observe players in action. I might just take a break from fighting parasoul and cerebella for a week or so.
SO…say the worst case scenario happens and the publisher decides against funneling more money for more dlc, will the colors that are already done be released in a pack?
Also, i posted it a few pages back but I don’t think anyone saw it.
Mike, would it be possible to change it so that if you hit Play again and your opponent hits Character select that you can hit Select to go back and change your team? I LOVE how it has your current team selected there already, but there have been instances where I would like to change my order. Unless that is possible and somehow I missed it, but im pretty sure i tried hitting select a few times.
Thanks
I havent felt this bummed since I realized mvc3 was a $60 beta.
whyyy the button check is on the versus screen !!1
Also that painwheel of dacibbro is pretty scary xD
Eh. i was afraid when i found out soul was a charge character but she isn’t nearly as hard to play as i expected. Do not lose hope!
But WHAT IF HE’s like GUILE? cries manly tear
zferolie confirmed for ruining SG DLC.
ooh another charge character?
fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk yeah
Parasoul is a ton of fun to play, I wasn’t expecting to like her as much as I do.
Dem Egrets man.
Well, as a Cere player I can give you some advice against her. Believe it or not, the safest area is right over her head. IDK who you play but Valentine, Fortune, and Fillia can stay here with their airdashes and they all have attacks that crossup and hit from this area. Cere’s air-throw can’t hit here, and she has few normals outside of C.MK that cover this area, and C.MK will get stuffed. Remember too that her air-throw can be blocked, and her ground throws need to have you floored. So you want to be in the air as low to the ground as possible most of the time.
Always either pushblock or jump after her attack strings. She can get tick throws off of… like anything, so any attack string becomes a guessing game. If you jump and airdash quick enough you stand a chance of avoiding her anti-air throw if she reads you. If you push block, a whiffed diamond drop will open her up to lots of punishes.
If you have Cerebella chasing you, chances are she is using some form of super armor. Her command run has super armor and her rush punch has super armor. In fact, the get in tool that doesn’t have super armor is her glide. If she is using super armor, throw her first. It’s the best way to get around it and can score you some heavy damage. If she is gliding, believe it or hot, your best bet is to just hit her before the clap. Ways you can do this involve Parasoul’s Sniper Shot and Napalm Pillar, Valentines flatline, Fillia’s Gregor Samson or Fenrir Drive, Double’s BIONIC CAAARRRRR, Fortune’s Nyantiair, Peacock’s air bomb, so on so forth.
As for Parasoul, I don’t play her but I can give you a couple pieces of advice. Spam napalm shot is a really good lockdown technique but it doesn’t cover the air over it. Everyone in the game can air-dash over it, and anyone who can’t can super jump over it. Super jump block is a great way to defend against napalm pillar and the cooldown of pillar is so great that you’ll easily get a hit or throw punish in after it. If she doesn’t Napalm pillar then you want to attempt to cross her up. Once again, air-dashing right over her head can get you behind pillar’s hit-box.
What your gonna try to make her do is whiff a napalm shot up close. The cooldown time on shot is actually pretty big, so you can smack her if she shoots it when you are in her face. I play bella and even my slow normals can punish her.
If she comes at you with j.HP, just block it and throw when she hits the ground. If she tries to throw you, you’ll both tech. If she tries to attack, you’ll tend to beat her. Invincible DP’s also work, and you can also jump up, block, air-throw against it. Just don’t try to meet it with an attack. You’ll lose.
You basically want to be really careful when throwing out your normals. Parasoul is a “Response” character. She can stuff you with her disjointed hit-box, flash kick, motorcycle soldiers, napalm traps, so on so forth. She LOVES to punish any normal that doesn’t connect. So what you need to do is be really smart about noticing your normals that don’t connect. If you see yourself get blocked, even once, try to throw. If she gets keen to that and starts push blocking, jump and try to crossover afterward.
Its interesting that you name Parasoul and Cerebella as the ones you have trouble with because I’d say you have to play against both far differently than much of the other cast. They eat aggro for breakfast, both of them. They love people throwing out normals recklessly and they thrive off of putting you on tilt. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are broken, just means that you have to re-write your brain in matches against them. They can’t be faced directly, instead treat it like a very slow chess match. Against parasoul, try to make her whiff so you can punnish. Bait her all day long. Against cerebella, get the life lead and play lame. LAAAAAME. She has no projectiles and she is the slowest at closing in the game. If you make her work for it, she will screw up eventually and you can punish for big damage.
Oh, and for both characters, have BnBs ready. You need to capitalize on your hit-confirms becuase you’ll find fewer opportunities.
Remember, this is day… 5? We are all trying to find new strategies and counter strategies. Remember in the early days of Marvel 2 we all thought Ice-Man was broken. We all know how that turned out. Just keep an open mind and try not to get frustrated and you’ll figure out a way to beat them.
If they decide to literally do NOTHING else, which they won’t, I will make sure that whatever was done gets put up for sale. I doubt they’d turn down free money in any case.
Yeah, it doesn’t work online, it does work locally. This was due to the fact that it’s hard to coordinate if you hit Select and your opponent chose the stage at the same time, since they would already have started to load the match before getting your Select press. We’ve got a solution in mind, though.
As to not anger Big Z
Spoiler
I really just want to play as a normal Egret. Beating up people as a minion is always fun. A running joke could be that no “main” character knows his actual name so they just call him “that guy”. Oh yeah, DISCLAIMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Yall can totally steal this idea and not even acknowledge me.
It’s not gameplay, I don’t care otherwise. You can ask for Egrets and Minette all you want.
Well if he plays like a non-crappy Q, then he is going to have charge moves.Although it’s really more like one charge move just with different button variations lol. I’m looking forward to it!
Zane, like someone else said, this is the discovery phase. You could take a break and wait for videos and guides to come out, or you could get in there, and find out what works. Every character in this game has the tools needed to get in. Some times its a special move, some times its something as simple as a double jump. Against Parasoul, if you don’t control the match from the get go, then you HAVE to play her game, and her game is patient and SOLID. This is on any point of the screen. Her tears are good for slowing your advance, and her normals are VERY good. Don’t be caught pressing unnecessary buttons. Ever.
Cere is tricky, but if you are getting grabbed a ton, just jump. Keep jumping until your opponent mixes it up. It’s important to figure out your opponents tendencies fast, especially against command grab chars.
So far I’ve been extremely pleased playing against others. I feel that smart, deliberate play gets you much further. So even if you aren’t a player who can’t do 75% combos, if you have a good head on your shoulders, know the mixup game and make educated decisions, you will get very far in this game. Knowing your tools and when to apply them in this game is what gives you the advantage, not just doing wild crazy combos (although it doesn’t hurt :P).
I asked last night if I should do something like that, but didn’t get a response, so I kept it here. I am sorry. I’ll go spoiler that, and make a separate thread for this stuff. Again, I am sorry.
I also wanted to know how you design characters Mike. Whats the format you use, and is that the offical way people design things like that? I am trying to learn and stuff.
Also, like I said. Dyslexic, sorry I spell things wrong…
I think most of the games fan’s wouldn’t mind seeing an Egret voiced by Jack Bauer. Or Andrew Lincoln (Rick) from the Walking Dead. Hell if it’s in your immense budget I think Samuel L. Jackson would be a win too or perhaps Ice Cube.
