I have to travel 200+miles to “play locally”. Middle of nowhere Texas=non existent tourneys unless you travel far north east.
I’ve been playing with a few locals, but honestly, I don’t think you’ll start seeing tourney numbers for at least another week, on account of how deep the system is compared to, say MvC3, which even at Winter Brawl 5(~2 weeks after release) didn’t have as high a number of entrants as Summer Jam and NEC the same year. People need time to adjust and learn completely new characters in a completely new engine. It’s also not like SFIV where fundamentals and knowledge of the characters from SSF2T carried over reasonably well(and the arcade release months in advance of consoles for the few places that had access to it in the US).
Every time I use Cerebella’s Ceracopter assist I feel like saying Molecular Shield for her.

I never thought I was an amazing artists… last thing I drew was years ago for my game idea Zandra the Dragoness. and my OC naruto characters that I have since turned into my own characters in this RPG I have. And I used some light tracing, but mostly looked at other pictures for insperation

I’ve heard of similar stories. I was just hoping that maybe a smaller company might be more lenient then a bigger one. I remember starting a huge game idea and plot for a new sonic game idea. everyone, and I mean everyone, loved it. Said it was better then what sega was doing, and I didn’t have to remove any side characters, and people love it. Sega would never respond to me though :_(

Sorry we didn’t get many matches in Sanger. I would love to fight you more in the future. Your peacock is quite good. I just wish I could pull of my moves every time while using the Analog on my PS3 controller… Everything else about this controller I love, the feel, button layout, everything. It just needs a better Analog. if only I could get one custom made…

@Mike_Z - I can’t find the exact post, but I recall you saying something earlier(possibly months ago) in one of the Skullgirls threads about 3 frames being the lowest possible response time to input(I believe you were talking about the rumored[and disproven] input lag on PS3). Having previously only done mods in FPS engines, input handling isn’t really my forte, but after playing Skullgirls and seeing what can be done in homage to the classic fighters we love, I’d like to take a crack at making a 2D fighter engine, so I’ve been trying to figure out why this is.
I think it’s one of the following two things, and any clarification or guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated:
EDIT: This is all assuming you already have your ticks set up with the proper timing @ ~60 FPS, frameskip and slowdown can be handled later
I haven’t even gotten to that yet, I’m just trying to figure out why there is the inherent delay before I break something(Like those terrible pirate KOFXIII cabs with vsync off that run at 10x speed)
scenario 1: assume input sent and received on frame zero
frame 1: check input buffer against possible actions(this would be true even outside of a game engine, say on the XMB or what have you)
frame 2: begin pre-render of next frame in VRAM
frame 3: draw to screen
or
scenario 2: assume input sent on frame zero
frame 1: receive input, (check buffer against possible actions?)
frame 2: (check buffer against possible actions if not done on frame 1), begin pre-render of next frame in VRAM
frame 3: draw to screen
Also, is there any sort of in game compensation that has to be done to handle this inherent delay, such as allowing blocking 1~2 frames late(during what would be early hit stop and imperceptible to the human eye)?
Well the issue is my local tournament scene only really has tourneys like an hour away and it’s not really on a day where I can use the car. On top of not really even having the money. I want to lab up first before going to a serious one for this game any ways so it’ll be a while. I’ll most likely be at our major where I’m sure several people will be out for Skullgirls to kick off the first solid tourney for the area.
So, besides the main characters and Umbrella and Squigly, who else is in Double’s level 3? Can’t really tell myself since it goes soo quickly.
