This is the first time in a fighting game when I don’t get upset when I lose. I don’t feel I was cheesed out, or the foe went hax on me. In this game, when I lose, I feel like it’s because I screwed up, and I learn from it so much more. In UMvC3, I feel like a lot of times I lose is because I get hit once and can’t do anything. Here, I don’t feel that way.
Plus with the game being so lag free, I don’t have to complain about that… though I had one AWFUL match last night, where the game was moving at a snails pace, and it kept having to wait for the opponet for the first half of the fight. Even then I almost won.
Exactly. When he loses, he never gets salty, and you can tell he knows it’s because he screwed up. He just takes it in stride, and learns from it. And when he wins, he comments of what he liked about that player, and points out where they messed up, for people who are watching his video to learn from it.
She is quite annoying, but if you learn her patterns, and how to deal with each stage, you will do fine… at least on sleepwalker, but I assume the idea works in all mods. Like watch for when you know her form will change. Jump back, and set up attacks that might take awhile, like Peacocks item drop, or neet a set up, like Valentine’s poison or Parasoul’s tears. Using the right supers is key as well. Peacock’s Argrest, Valentine’s Scalpels, and Parasouls’d Lv 3 are al great against all her forms, you just need to time it. Double’s Car super is the BEST move against the boss, due to being invincible, just don’t do it right before a form change, or you appear in the resulting explosion.
Yeah, sometimes you can’t even get that out of people you’re playing against in person. During SG casuals I did my best to point out things I figured out while playing and explain to people what I was seeing/doing to beat them, but most people just want to don’t want help.
Additionally, some people want to take any chance they can to correct you and ignore when you explain something you did, instead trying to claim you’re just being defensive and “salty.”
It’s hard to get clean conversation and discussion, since everyone thinks they’re the most correct person in the room. Gets old.
There seems to be a bunch of those threads on the 360 board. rarely any on the PS3 ones… except the obvious trolls.
Oh, I help out anyone I can, like my friends and stuff. However, sometimes you can’t help them out, or have to choose not to say anything, because they may feel you are rubbing in how better you are then them.
I have a lot to learn, but I’m not a beginner, so I love giving help and receiving it.
I love how many pages Skullgirls shot up though, last time I went there it was like 10 people there and 2 pages(firekid knows what I am talking about), now like 26 pages on the psn board.
At the very least we know the game did moderately well in sales.
Same. My buddy doesn’t tolerate it though. I explain something, he ignores it, a week later he goes “Hey, I figured out what you were doing.” And I just stand there smh because I explain everything in distinct detail.
I swear it makes me want to move to another city, because I have no one close who takes all of this stuff seriously. And most of the people I meet here in Houston either live a bit to far, or aren’t incredibly interested in hanging with random people who are new to the scene.
I find it refreshing that I have to pay attention to the buttons I have hit earlier in a combo so as to not let the IPS come bite me in the ass. I’ll be fishing with a variety of normals, but I do land that combo I don’t dial in the rest…
I wish we could fight people from different tier. I just jumped into tier 6, found someone with 36 ping (usually I only play at 120 ping or less), had fun and then I get downgraded to tier 5, unable to play with the lagless guy.

Yeah, I have known people like that. Even my friends sometimes act like that if I try to help them after I just plowed through them. I can see why though. A lot of the time, if I notice they are having trouble in the game, I start to go easy in the game, but not too much so they notice it. I had to learn how to go easy and not make it look like I was, so they can learn more and have more fun.
I wish I knew more people around my level or better that I could hang out around here. my one friend that was my rival lives down in Florida o_O I know there is a community here, and I saw it when I went to Game On! on Tuesday, but I just wish there were people closer to me…
How do the teirs work exactly. I seem to be bouncing around 2 and 3 myself…
I have been lucky, I mostly find people in the green pings, but sometimes I found them in the 300’s or higher but even then the gameplay was ok. Only bad time was against someone in the 500’s when it was unplayable for the first half.
EDIT" If I fight one of you guys (PSN zferolie) can someone tell me what my ping is?I think it’s good because I mostly get good matches. I won’t be on till tonight though…
Running at 50hz? That was the bane of all pre-HD PAL fighting game releases. Always hated that.
Have a PAL Xbox 360/NTSC PS3 and I’ve tested that Skullgirls is working fine over HDMI out at any resolution, always runs at 60hz. Haven’t got a PAL PS3 or analog cables around to test them atm.
I’m not sure about the tier thing, I’ve been mostly stuck on tier 5 whether I won or lose. Today is the only day I got to another tier. They might be different servers I guess? Something like that. (Can I add you? I warn you that I’m in europe though lol.)
