Where’s the full pic?
As was mentioned in that thread, no you cannot, at least not easily. That isn’t an analog in the PDP pad, it’s a microswitched D-Pad. As was also mentioned in that thread, the PDP pads are shit for modding.
SoulCock.
is the intent to completely eliminate the NOM (hey it sounds like ROM) loop? or are you fine with it still existing, albeit more difficult to perform or perhaps in a different form? i assume your fix only changes what occurs when you hit someone in a NOM’d state. thus if the opponent is NOM’d to completion, the head will still fall backward a short distance, as it currently does.
-
turns out you can still juggle them post-NOM with 5mk xx rekkas, 2mk xx rekkas, and 2mp xx rekkas and still get the same result where you hit ms. fortune’s head out of NOM recovery; with good timing you can either combo ]hp[ xx OMNOMNOM directly (unreliable), or do this variation: mp rekka, mp rekka [HP], mp rekka, 6]HP[. the zoom will hit meaty and then you can trivially restand anyone with 5mp or a chain leading up to it since it has a gazillion frames of hitstun -> rekkas -> OMNOMNOM.
-
also turns out if the opponent is being NOM’d, you can run through her and crossup with 1. iad j.214mk, 2. iad j.lk xx j.214mk, 3. iad j.lp xx j.214lk, depending on how friendly the hitboxes are. since post-patch the head will fly opposite the direction ms. fortune is facing (right?), you should be able to xup, land and continue NOMming.
that’s a lot of words. tl;dr, OMNOMNOM loop should still not only be very much possible but also reliable post-patch, of course with adjustments to make the loop IPS-legal. while damage and meter gain are lost, the amount is negligible. if you really don’t wanna see this loop, you may want to consider more drastic measures. or you could just leave it as is it’s pretty easy to do once you learn the trick.
incidentally this was a nice excuse to write “NOM” as often as possible
It would overlap for pad players that use analog stick for moment.
The pink parts don’t go with the art though.
I like it how you creepily zoom into Parasoul’s ass.
I am planning to put double in my third spot, but if a DLC character comes out I like more, she/he is going in. Either that or I will make a second, back up, team.
So I noticed. I just wish you can someone put the microswitched D pad in a PS3 controller, but it doesn’t sound possible unless you built it from the ground up.
And what’s wrong will staring at dat ass?
Not my video
I can’t believe how much it has paid off to get a PS3 just for this game.
Well, my intent’s not to forcefully eliminate anything yet. None of the changes that get made this early would be of the “OMG SO STRONG NERF NERF!” variety. I took a look at the script for Nom, and the comments say the head was supposed to go backward (in the direction of her body) both if you hit them and if it fully completes…then the variables right below that use the opponent’s facing direction, rather than hers. Given the amount of sleep I didn’t get during production, the fact that I didn’t screw up MORE stuff is kinda amazing. :^P
So it’s mostly a “let’s go with my original idea and see what happens”, first. I wouldn’t do anything else this early to change that move specifically to eliminate the loop. It still isn’t infinite, yaaaay. (^.^)
(The next logical step would be to make her head count toward the IPS, since due to a bug about it being spawned from a non-attack state it is the only thing that doesn’t at this point…and after that it wouldn’t matter if I changed Nom or not. That also shortens a lot of sandwich combos, though, so I’m on the fence there.)
Where the heck did you find that colored image!?
I was talking to my brother about the OM NOM and he was saying instead of counting it towards IPS just make it so they can’t be hit during the OM NOM. Unless the intention was to make it a comboable thing.
That is from her appearance in Double’s level 3 I believe.
Now can you define the type of head attack that goes towards the ISP(like Nomnom, Sneeze, or head slide), or is it just the head attacking itself? The head has so few attacks already that if you made it based on the type of head attack you still would be shortening sandwich loops…
Anyway that you can have the ISP maybe not counting head attacks till later? Like the ISP doesn’t start counting till the 2nd or third time to start with a single attack. Maybe have it so head attacks don’t start counting till 5 or 6 attacks? Not sure how flexible the code for the ISP is, and if you can designate that a single attack takes longer to activate it or not, but it seems like a decent solution to this issue. You get rid of this 100% attack while not nerfing normal sandwich combos too much.
I LOL’d during Parasoul’s story for various reasons.
- Sonic boobs
- Pool balls
- KFC combos
- Umbrella nagging
- Parasoul’s winquote against Valentine. “Winners don’t use drugs!” LMAO thank you for that.
Otherwise, what a fucking depressing storyline.
I am pretty sure the intention was to be able to make it a comboable thing. It seems made for that purpose, giving that you can move during it. It’s like Carl’s Puppet. During her super that she is spinning her arms, Carl can run in and attack as much as he wants. Granted that is a super, but that is the point of sandwich characters, having your other piece of bread hit them so you can come in and join the fun.
good to hear
the opponent’s facing direction on hit is always a function of the direction of the object hitting the opponent, yes? that sort of mistake is understandable haha. fuck programming
yeah thinking about it a little more, the original intent is ambiguous. should the head always fly the direction opposite of the object hitting it (including assists), or does that rule apply only to ms. fortune?
Wouldn’t you still be able to do sandwich combos with the different head moves? So [combo], HP, [combo], Nom, [combo], b/f.HP, [restand combo] and maybe a DP+HP although i dunno if it would work in that specific situation, but you get the idea. It’s the same concept as her sandwich combos (essentially), but the head has to follow IPS rules too.
I dunno lol.

Dude…
