Nope, I’ll just flat out call them spoiled brats, tell them to print this out (http://i.minus.com/iRF0i8CGlkcV8.png), and then treat them like a retard if they continue to bitch about it.
Seriously, the lack of a movelist is NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. ST and MvC2 didn’t have movelists, and they’re still being played today.
On the other hand, if someone passes on the game because of something that’ll only be used for the first hour or two, it just means there’s less idiots I have to deal with in here and online.
Damn, been so busy with school and stuff I haven’t been able to keep up with the GD thread or play me some SG yet.
Decided to take a break and finally give it a try. Wow, just wow, Skullgirls is absolutely amazing! I haven’t gamed for months, but I think that this might be the one that brings me back to my PS3. Turned it on, went to story mode, played through all of Filia’s story. Took me a little over an hour and got completely wiped by the CPU at least 20 times, but I have to say I’m impressed. The gameplay is really tight, the graphics and animation top notch, and to see a legit story included in a fighting game is a pleasant surprise! Sure the lack of an in game command list is a bit of a pain for fighting noobs like myself, but honestly each character doesn’t seem to have that complex of moves and it hasn’t been that big of a problem for me so far.
Anyways, that’s my two cents. Can’t wait to rip through everyone’s story mode and take Double into the training room for some practice after I’m done exams.
I have got to say that the menu/interface system in this game is a fucking godsend and every company ever has had shame brought upon their families for having us put up with crap.
I haven’t complained about it, but it bugs a few people, I just don’t see why when a little negativity is brought up about the game the zealots come out in mass to put down the person or they are assumed idiots with a snide comment and move on. I found them through what’s his faces signature in the Salt thread personally.
Honestly, I wouldn’t piss off anyone or start the whole “get out” schtick already, as I feel the community will kill this game off in a month or so with the way things are going. We’ll see then.
So far thinking a double team is for me, Cerebella and someone. Painwheel is interesting so far but eh, I’d like a good assist to allow me to get in there to counter Peacock and Double.
Bought this game yesterday, been having a good time so far. I don’t really mind the lack of movelists, but there are some annoyances bothering me that I haven’t seen mentioned:
It seems that there is no way to cancel from the character select screen to the main menu. This is super minor but sometimes I get to the character select screen and I decide I want to go back to the menu for any reason, and I am forced to select a character and let the match load before I can quit back to the main menu.
In the pause menu, pressing “up” on the top doesn’t put the cursor on the bottom. Most games allow this, and it always throws me off.
Slowdown in the boss fight. I’ve seen this mentioned before but I never realized how bad it was until I played through it. Very annoying boss fight because of this.
Anyway those are the only things I can really complain about. The actual fighting has been spot-on so far. I’ve been playing exclusively offline, so I hope when I transition to online I won’t have too much trouble finding opponents (I have good internet but I live in the Philippines right now).
Because it’s not a little negativity, it’s certainly not new, and they ARE idiots. People are making a mountain out of a mole hill, and it’s something that we’ve been dealing with at a ridiculous level over the past few days.
Even worse, is it’s a REALLY stupid thing to complain about when the gameplay itself is so fantastically awesome. If people are going to judge the quality of the game by the fact that it lacks a feature that they’d realistically use 2-3 times at most, then I’m going to treat them like the spoiled, entitled brats they are. I’m seriously getting tired of even having to copy/paste the same things over and over every time someone who thinks they’re some unique fucking butterfly comes in to bless us with their god-given opinions like they’re some sort of gaming messiah, ascending down Mt Sinai with “How it Is” engraved on a tablet.
tl:dr, It’s not new, and it got fucking old really fucking fast.
Press select/back. This also deselects characters/colors/assists.
The Select/Back button is always cancel, on every screen. On character select it will go back a step at a time if you already picked things, or exit to the main menu if you are at Team Size. (Circle/B is also cancel on all menus except character select.) Lots of games actually DON’T let you back out of charselect, though, like 3sOE.
And yeah, the menus don’t wrap around. We’ll fix that. :^P
DRD we are buddies, but I think you are projecting or putting personal issues and aggravations in on a half way comment. I will repeat: I never asked for one, I’m just saying it’s a valid thing to complain about. This is SRK, you should be used to people making anything into a fucking mountain by now, especially when the nut hugging of Mike Z and his messiah product is on the other side of extremes lol
Without people voicing a concern nothing will get fixed, yes we know by now (Or I do, even if it doesn’t bother me) that Mike Z will put one in. But it comes with the stipulation of the game selling, which is understandable considering the cost of patching for the 360. It’s just valid to bring up problems so they can patch as many concerns early on and not waste time or money later, and guess what? All the bitching would cease. What a shocker!
<3 you, if you have a 360 which I don’t remember, add me up so I can whip you.
One thing that’d be handy on this magical Patch List is a sound to indicate that you’ve found an opponent online. If there’s not many games going I check my laptop and there’s often a game waiting for me when I look back, but I have no idea how long it’s been there.
Yes, it’s a teeny tiny thing, but hey, figure I might as well suggest it.
