Good God, bro, did you ever trying to lurk? >_>
I hope they do really well with it. Just saying that they are going to have to sell more downloads @ $15 a pop than $60 a pop to get into the black.
$15 for a game with about the same value of a full-priced $50 game + upcoming potential DLC down the line? Nah, I think they’ll do just fine. Not to mention the merchandise they’re selling.
I’m not sure if it actually is Dr. Avian but it seems likely… the old guy standing in the background towards the middle of the stage, same as the man on the left in that image there. So if that fellow really is the doctor and not someone else then yeah, I guess he does stay around in the labs.
About twisted wishes… I think that every one of them could potentially do a twisted wish. I can think of something for just about every character except Peacock, I’m drawing blanks as to what she’d wish for.
And don’t downloadable games have to be under a certain price anyways? Thought they couldn’t be more than like $20. Anyway, the word is getting out-- hopefully the core game as well as DLC and merch sales will prove fruitful for Reverge. :>
Wow my picture was featured, thanks guys
I guess I didn’t take extra downloadable content into account.
Is that an expression? I know this is off topic n’all but I dont know why that phrase fits in that sentence
Actually I was thinking that core game can be considered immensely cheap. Mike already said that new chars will be more expensive then 1/8 of core game. Which is turning Skullgirls in the good deal as it is now. But after release of several characters the price could rise up to retail games’ level…
I wonder how many characters they’ll make?
“They’ll lose all of their money, then all belongings and even shirts”. That’s what it stands for =]
from:http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/lose+shirt
lose one’s shirt
Fig. to lose a lot of money; to lose all of one’s assets (as if one had even lost one’s shirt). I almost lost my shirt on that deal. I have to invest more wisely. No, I can’t loan you $200. I just lost my shirt at the racetrack.
lose your shirt
to lose all the money you put into something I lost my shirt because I didn’t know anything about publishing at the time.
Usage notes: usually said about money that was invested
I see your point. In that case they could change their business model and give away the base game for free and than charge for extra content!
This isn’t an iphone / mobile game, freemium doesn’t work in the console industry.
Yet.
It’s getting there. It’s becoming more common, but I think it probably wouldn’t work for fighting games is the problem. Not that it’s fighting games themselves, but the audience may not be as receptive to it as they would in other genres for whatever reason. As fighting games don’t seem to last quite as long as other games in the casual market (could be wrong here), you’d need a constant stream of premium content that would be valued by the masses to keep that kind of business model going and keep it profitable.
The biggest problem with freemium stuff is finding a good balance between things that should be in the core games, and things that you need to buy. This would vary from game to game of course and very few games have hit a good balance where you don’t feel gimped being on the free to play spectrum of freemium.
Actually the biggest problem with free offers on consoles is that there is actually a limit from the console manufacturers to how much free stuff you can offer per paid thing, and the core game MUST cost money.
Is that even possible to measure? O_o
I agree with Zebster. Most casual consumers wouldn’t necessarily care about a new character they have to pay for (which is pretty much what extends the life of fighting games impo, you’re more than welcome to disagree) and unless the palettes are cheap, I doubt they’ll want to pay for that either.
I lol’d at this post about skullgirls in the 2k forum
-A Girl employee falls for her boss
-A Girl is trapped in a relationship with a man she isn’t fond of.
-A Girl seeks revenge after her friends are killed.
-A Girl is turned mentally unstable after a traumatic event.
-A Girl is kidnapped.
-A Girl is the sole survivor after a massacre.
-A Girl in authority tries to set a bad situation right.
A Lifetime Original Videogame:
Skullgirls.
Lifetime, Videogames with women.
Would’ve been better if you just made it on PC to begin with! :shy:
Oh, so to feed one child they quickly have to make another? That explains overpopulation, I guess…
? For every paid thing the developer puts up for sale (“Buy four colors!”) they’re allowed to put up X number of free things (“Have a game update!”), but no more.
It’s not Lifetime until it has horribly researched technology references ala “cowboy bebop at his computer” and everyone gets an STD
