Start with tutorials, Boodendorf. I’m not sure you all have fun time just from button mash. 9 people on the other hand… It would be hard to get through tutorials without losing anybody.

Personally I want Ileum because Dhalsim limbs but I don’t see her design being popular enough to be included over those four.

In my experience if it isn’t Capcom casuals could careless about “X” 2D fighter. Particularly galling is that this whole “2.5D” thing with the fugly 3D models somehow makes games like BB and KOF look bad to them.

It’s annoying, as much as I appreciate Capcom for reviving the genre I also don’t care for a lot of things they brought along like absurdly long super animations and their obsession with comeback mechanics.

Right, I forgot that at that time when I tried to say that blazblue was a pretty cool game to my friend, they pretty much answered “lolugly2d it sucks”. Well I’ll still try with Skullgirls.

They’ll probably get salty at some point and that’s when you bust out Skullgirls.

Or just have the game on as they’re strolling in start with it before moving to other games.

I don’t think they’re going to get salty over videogames. At least it never happened when I saw casuals playing against each other (unless one was spamming an attack like hadoken or something.).

Yeah, that’s the hardest part here :/. One of them would probably go like “oh fuck that” and everyone would follow. Guess I’ll do like the tutorial once with everyone and then get on the matches.

Meh, I didn’t start playing fighting games until this last year but I grew up on Fire Emblem so I’ve definitely got that preference for 2D animation. The visuals from PoR onward make me cry.

I do believe it’s automatic. People wouldn’t write it there manually as it’s already annoying to write on a forum with a phone.

That’s what I thought but it just seemed like a really stupid feature for the app. Oh well, gotta advertise it somehow I guess.
