But there is plenty synergy in doubles tennis. Even synergy in singles, you can’t just go for a smash everytime, you need to volley, and volleying requires a certain synergy with the opponent.

Yeah, I know. That was the joke. I came from smash, and they use those all the time because many of them also play competitive pokemon.
Personally, I like calling them dittos because it’s easier to say than mirrors. Ditto is a much more natural sounding word and it’s clean cut. Same thing with friendlies. When I say “casuals” it’s like I have to put effort into saying the “ca” part of it every time where as friendlies just rolls off the tongue.

And yet, nothing I’ve seen today is as depressing as the fact that if you search “Skullgirls” by date on Youtube, the entire first page of results is nothing but sleazy shit-tier gaming sites trying to draw views by reposting the Story Mode video (and one guy who reposted the Fighterpedia video, God alone knows why). I went back four pages and haven’t found more than a handful of videos with original content.
That always happens when a new vid comes out, dude. >_>
