Gen 5 added a MASSIVE amount of content and essentially re-worked the meta game with the new Dream World Abilities, and though I may sound annoyed, I really enjoy the new stuff as both a competitive and recreational fan of Pokemon. I would highly recommend picking up Pokemon Black or White, assuming you have a DS. (I’m doing a Crustle only run right now, while I’m waiting for Skullgirls) Try smogon.com (Tutorial) and Pokemon-Online.eu (Battle simulator). It may seem daunting at first: IV’s, EV’s, Natures, Items, Abilities, Physical/Special/Mixed, Egg moves, etc. But if you get into it, It can be a lot of fun. Or you can just pick 6 legendaries and spam hyper beam, and that’s fun too.
I actually have all of the mainstream Pokemon games for handhelds, so I have both Black and White. I’m not one for dream abilities, but I’ll make some exceptions, I still wish to get a Justice Growlithe ^^
Pokemon’s evolved so much, I quite honestly cannot keep up with it like I used to XD;;
I knew you couldn’t have been running OU with Crustle, lol.
I gave up on competitive Pokemon a long time ago. Especially considering it’s nothing like chess, with percentage based moves and the insane amount of imbalance if you’re actually considering anywhere near those “649 different pieces” lol.
Though smashing casual players’ uber Pokes with my Light Ball SPATK + SPD IV trained Pikachu was hilarious back in the day.
