Hmm, this brings an interesting point to mind: how many people here who are interested in Skullgirls are female and/or part of the LGBT community? I’m not asking for people to out others or to discuss it if they don’t want to, but it’d just be an interesting statistic to know for my own reference.Hell, you can even PM me if you want; I’m just curious in demographics yet want to be respectful about it.
Really, no judgements here from me, I may be as straight as they come, but my uncle (who is more of an older brother) is gay, and I’m very supportive of their relationship.
Moving on to something a little more on topic, where did this idea come from that we’re expecting news either tomorrow (well, today now) or within the next few days? I’ve been a little preoccupied with things and haven’t been staying on track with news and rumors. I can see Valentine’s Day being a source for murmuring, but I’m not seeing where it was brought up.

Also, I wish it would be more of a surprise than Valentine trailer IMO. :< I don’t want to expect it really. I rather have a crappy piece of paper drawn in crayon with the official release. JUST SAYIN.

to answer duckie’s question: I am included in, and know quite a few in the lgbt demographic that are very interested in this game.
SFxT comes out in a month. Obviously, releasing SG on the same week/day seems dumb. The latest they could release and still beat SFxT is February 28. However, a week before a major release isn’t really much time if you are looking to space releases. Not to mention BBCSEX comes out next week. The release window is MUCH less crowded after SFxT than before it. Hell it’s empty between March and June/July. Ergo, it makes sense to release after SFxT.
I agree that SFxT and SG are in the same genre and on the same consoles but they aren’t in the same price bracket. $15 or less is practically impulse buy range. That is important. I don’t see the game exploding out of the gate regardless of when it releases but rather it being a slow and steady burner as long as word of mouth is good, a factor that isn’t influenced by the releases around it. I think being realistic is important but you don’t want to fall into pessimism.
Q1 2012 ends on March 31, 2012. That’s 7.5 weeks from now. It will come when it comes and there is still plenty of time to meet this “deadline”.

I wish I was better at figure drawing. I can draw still life subjects like nobody’s business, but not figures. I’d make an “Ask Valentine” Tumblr. If nothing else, someone can draw it and I can write it… hint hint.
