You could say the same for the Venom and Carnage symbiotes, but ultimately, they survive by bonding with another species. I doubt they or Samson really like having to rely on something else to keep them alive, but that’s the nature of such beings.

How bad is this really. Obviously it is in this game’s best interest if NOTHING is around it but they don’t have the budget and fans (as far as I can tell from some twitter whining, etc.) don’t have the patience to wait for another major delay. SFxT will be somewhat nearby either way and I’m not convinced that SFxT is the be all, end all of things. I’m having a hard time imagining a scenario where someone was interested in SG and then would stop being interested just because SFxT came out (and I’m assuming in this case they like SFxT). We are assuming the game will cost $15 at most right? There is no “wait for bomba” price drop for DL titles and you’d be saving what, $5-8 MAX for any promotion that may ever happen. I could understand if someone was too poor/hesitant to buy two $60+ (with tax & shipping) in a short time period but $75? What kind of cheap ass is that?
I can understand time one has for fighting games being an issue but the fighting game enthusiast, if they are interested in SG, will pick this up whenever Day 1 is and casuals don’t go deep into any game, they just play what they enjoy so I feel price is a bigger issue than time. This game is going to sink/swim based on its innate quality, word of mouth, the free & required demo and its price. Those are going to be what convince naysayers or skeptics. The demo will be especially important, most major fighting games don’t have that luxury.
Furthermore, with regards to new games, SFxT is the last one with a set date this year. VF & Persona have a nebulous summer window and TTT2 won’t be out until the end of the year. Maybe DOA5 comes out near the end of the year too? There isn’t going to be that disturbance in the field between Early March and December. This gives this game plenty of time to generate word of mouth as there won’t be a new fighting game coming out every month or something.
My personal prediction for SG’s release is late March which gives SFxT some breathing room but also maintains the Q1 window they are aiming for. Anyway, I’m sure both Reverge & Autumn are aware of the gaming calender and will release the game at the best time they can find; as soon as possible but while also making sure the quality is up to and beyond snuff.

Samson also might need Fillia for transport. He’s a voracious eater and consumes a lot of energy when he transforms and moves around. By simply resting on Fillia’s head, Samson can go wherever he bullies her to go without having to expend calories.
