Not the game, but ALex AHad had his characters created on his deviant art page for years (not that they were hentai or anything). Alot of people as well bought the game (playing the game is a different story) and rather make fan-art/fan-stories of the characters then play the game. Hell Japan has had people make fan-art of skullgirls (hentai and regular) and the game is not officially out yet over there.
