Watched some comp on TV over the weekend and PRod didn’t even place in any of the events. There are a ton of newcomers I’ve never even heard of that are KILLIN it. It’s great for me to see the newer guys still throwing down older tricks. Of course their mixed in with rails etc… Like a boneless to to boardslide on a rail, and a one footed ollie to boardslide on the rail. I love seeing that shit. I’m just now getting some of my stuff back. Nollie tre’s etc… but most of the time I’m like MGO and just cruise. If I get around a group of younger peeps though something snaps and I think I’m 13 again and start attempting to bust shit again. I was always about that competitive drive. Well, I guess you guys know the Dew tour street event is on tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some good stuff in that. BTW, did you all see the Nike SB Prod commercial with Ice Cube in it? Shit was too funny. ok, enough rambling.

He rides for Zero still. I’m pretty sure at least. Yea that 900 was ridiculous it’s good to see some new blood in vert skating because after Bucky, Burnquist, Way, PLG, there isn’t a whole lot left in the vert scene. Though I’m not really into the techy kind of vert I’d rather watch some olds vids of Hosoi bustin airs.
I like watching Rune Glifberg a lot. He does good tech stuff without having to use his hands, like sick kickflip back lips on vert. He kills it in the bowls, too. Speaking of which, there is the converse bowl contest going on this weekend.

Speakin’ of Hosoi, I recently watched that doc on him. Man, I had no idea he went through that shit. I loved the little bit with Hawk talking about skateboarding dying and guys doing demos at Disney etc… for like 50 bucks a day. Man, to go from winning decent pots to $50? I know they didn’t make as much cash back then but still. I remember when the x-games first started I didn’t really like the idea. But with them in place and stuff like Maloof and the Dew tour I don’t think skateboarding will die ever again. So, needless to say I got over my hate for the x-games real quick after I realized what a boon to the sport national TV time would be.

Yea dude, I also watched that recent doc, super good. Speaking of of the first x-games, remember how silly some of the parks were especially the first one that had colored ramps haha so 90’s. I remember Jamie Thomas got best trick with a backside 5050 on a downrail.

-Im kinda pissed that the mindfield tour will come to town the first day of class, I really wanted to see Jake Johnson (since he is the one with the least “non mindfield” footage)
-My Park skating has gotten better, im proud of myself. Ramp skating is easier than street skating yet is kinda harder, like the fear of falling is so much higher in bowls and half pipes
-Mike V’s battle comander was ill, but WAY too gimmicky.
