Hell yeah, that’s what I wanted to hear. Stick that shit, what’s the worse that can happen right?
Hahaha yup.
I actually just not even try to think about it, too much, and if something happens so be it. About the worst thing that can happen to me at this point, is I roll one of my ankles, which is a pretty common injury.
I know the first time I rode down a kicker, when I had zero board control, I didn’t know you were supposed to keep your weight centered over the nose, I leaned back, and busted my head lmao. Live and learn.
About Manuals though, is learnign them just purely trial and error?
ggpo skateboarding in new england. snow season is officially year. 2 storms in 2 weeks.
Damn bro, that sucks so bad
Yall got any indoor parks?
Now I know indoors, just don’t compare to the streets, but something is better than nothing, especially when you are in the learning phase.
Can’t even skate around here in Jersey, it was just snowing today. I’ll probably wait till friday, got get this damn kickflip sooner or later. Anyone here saw Mindfield by AlienWorkshop?
ill ask eastern boarder bout it soon.
Yeah dude, manuals is just trial and error. Everyone has different foot positioning when they manual. Just find whats comfortable to you and just fuck around with them.
yeah thats wat skating is all about, progress.
i would recommend u start working on your riding more and developing your balance. start bombing hills amd stuff like that. also loosen up your trucks to the point in which u can take turns without tick-tacking.
as for manuals, you should be practicing tricks like this simultaneously throughout your whole skate seshes.
never focus or get stuck on a single trick, a skateboard has infinite possibilities. don’t limit yourself to a small arsenal of tricks. a lot of people make this mistake with kickflips/ heelflips. they learn one and get complacent and discourage themselves, but i just laugh at these kids when they fail miserably at heelflips in a game of skate.
i was like that when i was a kid, i could bang out kickflips but my heelflips were very inconsistent.
when i got older, i lost the kickflip and gained uber heelflip skills, but i got the kickflip back thank god (but not as good as my heelflip still).
right now i’m suffering, i can bang out frontside pop shuvits but i’m inconsistent with bs pop shuv its, i needa practice.
Aight cool :woot:
I just got in, and an overall porous day Skating.
Couldn’t land a fucking shuvit, and I’m too afraid to try moving ollies.
I’m so fucking mad I’m about to go outside, and try shuvits on the sidewalk so that I at least accomplish something, today.
I can do stationary ollies well enough to get about a foot off the ground, but moving ollies own the shit out of me. I whiff retardedly on the pop, and in the back of my mind I’m telling myself I’m going to try and pop and end up leaning back too far and eating shit
does anyone know if nike sb’s fit the same as nike 6.0’s…i was thinking of ordering sneaks online.
Deck: Kellen James Sk8mafia
Trucks: silver dyrdeks
Wheels: deathwish 52.5s
Bearings: cant remember.
Me and some friends have just recently got back into skating and I’m having so much fun. I’m far more adventurous with what I try to learn than I was when I skated as a kid. I’ve improved heaps over such a short period. Bought some new trucks (cheapo speed demon), bearings (Bones Reds, of course) and sick Darkstar wheels. At the moment the only things I can do smoothly and consistently (well besides ollies, manuals and stuff) are 180s but at the rate I’m learning that won’t be for long.
I don’t know how SB’s fit compared to 6.0’s, but I do know that SB’s come smaller, so it’s recommended that you size up a half size if you can.
Not sure about 6.0’s.
Err if you got any Skate shops in your city, I’d go to one that carries SB’s and 6.0’s and try them on.
It’s important that you get the right size, and your shoes fit snuggly around your feet. I made the mistake of coughing up 85 bones for some P-Rod 2’s, that were loose, and felt too big for me to Skate. Never again
EDIT
Or are you going to even skate them?
i got sb’s and yeah they run madd small…i’m an 11 in sb’s. their was a sale online 30% off sneaks. but no point in sneaks if i cant figure out how they will fit.
i have to go a half size up in sbs but i havent bought any since the purp piegons
just got the nollie 360 front shove down. yeaaaaaaboi
those are fun as hell. get those bigspins now.
Sweet
Skateboarding is the shiz.
I loveSkating around in the hood.
A lot of Black people don’t Skateboard in the hood obviously, so when they my Black friends doing kickflips, and tre-flips and shit, motherfuckers might as well have seen a pig fly. Even the hoodest niggas just gotta stop for a second, because they’ve never seen anything like that in their life
I get stares just because I can ride down the street very fast, and in control. Not even doing ollies and kickflips yet!
I mean they probably rode a $30 Skateboard before, but it was quickly tossed aside when they found out that doing ollies wasn’t as easy it looked, and instead started playing Basketball and Dat Madden.
man when i first started skating like 7 years ago I was like 10 or 11 i used to get ribbed all the time for skatin. “tony hawk lookin ass” would be the only thing they really say though haha. now that i grew up and I got better i get more respect, though. and plus now they see black skateboaders in the media so its all good.
Oh you’re Black as well :wgrin:
But yeah, the Tony Hawk thing is ridiculous.
When they say that I be thinking like “Bitch I don’t Skate vert(Not that there’s anything wrong with Vert)!”
Wait until I learn my kickflips man. Can’t wait to get that respect feeling.
You’re right about the Black skater thing. You got Lupe Fiasco, MURS, and Pharrel on the hip-hop scene promoting Skateboarding, and Black guys like Clyde Singleton, Terry Kennedy, Neen Williams(The entire Affiliate Team is Black), and for old school Ray Barbee.
Lots of Black skaters :woot:
Has anybody seen P-Rod’s new video called Forecast?
