Skateboarding: Kick Push and Fall

Damn it must suck living up north.

Just keep going Bio, and everything will eventually get easier.

Skating in the cold is probably what caused my lung to collapse. lol

I just started teaching a friend mine. Last night he went and got himself a good Mongoose board just to start off.

Yeah it does suck ass living up North.

Chicago is just now starting to get consistent 40 degree weather(Which is pretty warm IMO),and I would imagine that is about as cold as it gets(A little more or less) in the Deep South.

Your longs collapsed before? :wasted:

Well just my right one, but they couldn’t figure out why it happened or whatever. Supposedly it usually happen to tall Latino males and stuff. It could of been a pre existing condition or something but I doubt that it had something with skating. I had no chest trama or fallen to the point where you get the air knocked out of me. I was 16 going to 17 when this shit happened. But everything is good now.

Bluntslides. Tips? I always seem to over shoot my ledge and hit it with my tail instead of the wheels.

I noticed a few of you guys are from Chicago. I grew up on S Pauilina St a few blocks away from Seward Elementary you guys near there?

Picking up a new deck today, my current element deck is all warped cuz I left it in my car over the winter for a couple of weeks ><!

Bluntslides on ledges are nuts. I prefer to do them on rail. lol Practice locking or stalling on curbs to get a better feel for it. I can’t really say on how to them on a ledge.

I got this from another website but idk how much help it would be.

blunt slide
these are done by olling and turning a 90 or more to position your tail on the object from the other side.
exicution: ride at a large angle towards your object, and pop a hella high ollie. now turn a 90 or more degree angle, what ever it takes to get your tail on the object. all of your weight should be on the tail, and to get a long slide it just takes practice, that is the key to these tricks is practice
this trick can be done f/s or b/s.

Had fun today Isiah lol.

Gotta practice around my block today.

Wilson was hella overcrowded.I felt uncomfortable.

Oh man, out of the game for at least 2 more weeks. Winter just dumped 6 inches on snow last night. Why? WHY DAMMIT WHY?!

That sucks(Though it’s arguable that living in the Midwest and up North sucks anyways)

We finally got a warm day(A perfect day actually).65 degrees.

bumping this thread cause I cant stop buying ice creams

Cal, i know you will read this at work faster than my MSN. My longboard came in yesterday. Can we PLEASE go skateboarding soon, fuck this snow. On that note… we’ll que the music.

^longboards?! those look mighty fun to cruise on.

Yeah i got the NS eclipse, its tiiight. Nice and roomy and comfortable. Sucks balls i can’t do anything with it yet cause Edmonton won’t cut us a break.

aww that sucks.
man I need to get a vid on
alof of folks tell me that my style is very consistent and flowing but can be robotic at times.

Yo, I went out last night for a little bit while waiting for roman and matt to get off work. It was aight, there’s still too many pebbles and gravelly shit on the roads though. Holla back.

Any tips on how to ollie on curbs or ollie off curbs? I can ollie around the streets, but I always pussy out on curbs :shake::shake:

I dunno how skaters can grind on rails, that must be scary as fuck when you fuck it up. (Been watching too much Scarred) How do you guys get over fears like that? Even a fucking simple curb !!!:mad:

There’s the problem right there. Once you decide you are going for it, you have to commit 100%. Just close your eyes and feel the streets. /cheese

There’s no real advice anyone can give except ‘go for it’.

You just have to go for it. After you get the first try over with, it gets alot easier.

Yep, Commit is the key word. Don’t try to jump off at the last moment. Or even immediately. Try to do it right, or else you’ll end up hurting yourself way worse.

How long did it take you guys to ollie a 3 stair?
