I’ve never skated dcs but I’ve heard from friends that they are bad ass n stuff. I like that chunky look, I remember I got the globe chet thomas 4. Those were the shit but they tore pretty fast .
The V2s were some of my favorite shoes to skate. They are some of the best shoes I’ve skated.
I like most DC shoes, but I don’t understand how they can sell a vulk sole shoe at 70 bucks and call it a ‘core shop exclusive’. That’s like saying, 'hey fuck you, we’re even gonna overcharge for our pricepoint shoes". In general the construcion is good on the cupsole models. For a long time they were putting out some rediculous shit, they looked like old Osiris shoes or something. I’m glad I don’t have to see those ugly ass Dave Mayhew shoes anymore.
I remember seeing some Osiris going for about 100 bux. It’s fucken retarded. The shoe was chunky as fuck. It was pretty ugly too.
I try to look for decent shoes on sale, but I usually can’t find shit. At Ross sometimes you can find like good skate shoes for about 30 bux. I remember buying the Vans Salabanzis for about 25 bux. They were a piece of shit though but whatever.
Even if they were cleaner than that pic showed, where do they get off charing $100 for an ugly pair of shoes? The material must be super good, and the cushion most be heavenly then.At $100 I can buy a complete
It has like shit loads of O2 cushion pads. My friend had some black ones and damn they were nasty. Supposedly you don’t even feel the board when you put them on.
Awesome, I’ve skated Zero Punk. Those are awesome. I have that bitch nail on my wall back home. I fucked that board up so bad, it didn’t even have a nose. lol
Nah, man. Those things are like gold to ravers and rollerbladers and anyone else with a rediculous sense of fashion. Basically, they are a caricature of skateboarding in the late 1990s. Of course skating in them was like cutting some footholes into some walruses and wearing them on your feet.
I don’t think anyone takes Osiris seriously anymore, I don’t know if they still have Jerry Hsu or not… but that’s their only good rider ever I can think of. After every 10 year old on the planet had those gross D3’s…
The Zero American Punk was my second deck ever lol, good call.
I honestly think it’s useless to worry about style or durability in skate that you will actually skate, just get something that gives you good board feel and slap some shoe goo or duct tape on the side and deal with it. I wear skate shoes casually though, so that’s what I mean about the DCs. Another beautiful shoe was Eric Ellington’s last Circa model, but he left them so I’ll never have them :annoy:
I laughed my ass of when Dave Carnie wrote a review of the Osiris G-Bag in Big Brother magazine. That shit was golden. He played Slayer, NWA, and other random selections on busy city street corners in front of and near LFPs offices. Not annoying at all!
And hey, I’m not trying to knock on your style, I think walruses might be making a comeback. =D
In all fairness, I know a lot of people who wore those shoes. They pretty much brought Tony Magnusson back out of obscurity.
