This is exactly what they want to do, consciously or not. They want to be seen as fighting for a good cause, but the image is more important than the results - that is to say, the fundamental need is to be able to tell themselves that they’re good people, and for that the important thing is strength of conviction, not the conviction or belief in their methods being in any way realistic, sane or workable.
We all know about gender quotas. We might also remember the furor over the anti-roofie lipstick or know the inevitable rage over suggestions that people should learn how to defend themselves (ie. rage against suggestions that people should make themselves stronger from people who want their pet groups to be… stronger)? The suggested solution is to just put minorities where the activists want them to make numbers look pretty and to teach bad people to not be bad people. Super strong conviction, but both solutions utterly ignore how the world and the human mind work.
But that is not a problem, it’s even a benefit, because the problems persist and they can retain their image of working for a good cause. If the problem is never solved, all the better, in reality.
A person who’s actually concerned about solving a perceived problem (ie. lack of minorities, women in positions of power, or bad people attacking peaceful people) will want to learn how things actually work so they can most effectively work to solve or minimize the problem - the morally outraged person who’s concerned about drug use will suggest a prohibition law, while the results-concerned person will suggest making it legal, normal and kind of unexciting.

Eh, I don’t care to see SJW’s getting carved up, which is all the movie seems to be about. It seems that as soon as the plane crashes they get caught and prepared for slaughter. Instead of Saw 9: Amazon Privilege, I’d rather the movie focus on showing us how immature and irrational SJWs are. For example, the plane crashes and it becomes a survival plot where they have to come up with roles/responsibilities but they can’t agree on them because it relies on traits like physical capability which is unfair. Later on in the movie they encounter the natives who show clear evidence they are cannibals but the group decide to ignore it because that’s racist.
I stopped reading right there and went to see the movie

Oh well, personally not a big fan of torture porn, but it should be fun for people that enjoy the genre.

All of you guys just got trolled. This is just an oldschool publicity stunt to get people talking about the movie. I know the movies Snuff and Bloodsucking Freaks did the same thing, hold mock protests with feminist groups in front of theaters.
Green Inferno is inspired by the oldschool Italian Cannibal movies and we haven’t seen one of these in almost 30 years. There’s a certain charm to the genre, Cannibal Holocaust is just devastating but Cannibal Ferox and Mountain of the Cannibal God are fun flicks despite the animal violence.
I know a probably shouldn’t say this but, why they killin’ the chicks, too? If I was the chief, send them hoes to my hut.

In the trailer it looks like one of the girls has the same paint as the tribe members and the little curved knife scene my guess is shes about to get the ol’ circumcision to possibly be one of them. Also they hungry.
Oh ya I like Cannibal Holocaust, and it did have a substantial message about how media shapes and sensationalizes stories.
But the subjects of this movie seem very far removed from the “SJW’s” that SRK posters seem most often annoyed by. Other than Roth calling them SJW’s I don’t see the connection.
Yeah these guys getting ate are actually attempting to do something constructive, SJWs would be the guys reading articles about the people getting ate online and struggling to decide weather to applaud the tribe because they are “punching up” on their imagined scale or shit on them because they eating women as well as men.
So, what is it if one of them gives the cannibals indigestion or food poisoning? Oppressive racism?
