Who am I? What have I done to make my opinions matter?
What do I know about the SF4 tournament scene? What do I know about putting in work? Was I even playing in 3S tournaments when the game was still relevant?

The problem w/ Sirlin’s HDR was apparently just the HD background…If 3S would keep everything the same(classic) & add a remix mode that would have been nice. Keep the OGs happy & get new people interested…

Why should a rebalance be necessary to get new people interested? Why should people who have never touched the game be concerned about how ‘new’ it is? If you haven’t played it, it’s new to you. If anything it’s the dudes who’ve been playing the game for years who have the most right to want a rebalance, and they don’t.
Yeah the classic mode still had HD backgrounds due to time constraints & probably more cost…If they would have implemented it, maybe the OGs would stop bitching about classic mode in HDR.
sirlin sucks, hdr sucks, 3s sucks, chess 2 sucks, yomi sucks. puzzle strike is ok. dominion is better than puzzle strike. ggpo is cool.

Actually this is so true…For them the only way to play ST is on 2 japanese cabs going head to head w/ CPS2 hardware running…
I played the original & i didnt like it…Maybe with a remix i be incline to buy it to see the new changes. Why do you care so much if there is a remix version of it if they keep the original intact? Having rebalance would be like a fresh start & may help even the play field for newer players.
Love all these games. Played all of them a lot. I played them when they were first released and now I own all of them on arcade cabinet.
You have to consider that out of all the games mentioned Third Strike is the game that aged the best. I live in So Cal and there is still a scene for 3S in arcades. There is really no scene for Alpha2/3 or Super Turbo in arcades today. Third Strike still has aged well. It’s a game that took a while for people to get around to. When Alpha 2/3 came out it was an instant hit but now no one plays. The opposite is true for 3S.
One has to ask that with all it’s “imbalances”, why do people still continue to play 3S up unutil this day?
3S didn’t really even take off until 2002 and not REALLY until 2004 so that’s hardly a fair comparison.

Sirlin couldn’t have made it more obvious that he’s salty HDR bombed and is seen as a bane on the ST community whereas this game promised arcade perfect 3S with ggpo, and gave exactly that.
Re-releasing a game without balance changes is NOT an admission of ‘so what if its unbalanced?’. Its saying 'Hey, a TON of people love this game, so here it is on a modern console, with a bunch of new features, and you can play it online.
