I was thinking about mods for a stick I plan on modding after the holidays and I thought of how much of pain it is to carry the stick at a tourney or a major when not playing. Not only that, if you have a bag it may be cumbersome to keep messing with it before and after matches in a packed room. So I thought of a simple and quick mod and all you need is a guitar strap (if you have rockband or guitar hero in the house you should have easy access to one if you don’t actually play a guitar).

All that needs to be done is unscrew the two feet from the arcade stick you want the strap to hang from. I used the back two so my cord doesn’t fall out while walking. place an end of the strap over each hole lined up where the guitar strap pegs go. the screw the feet through the holes.

Nice, never would have thought to make use of my guitar straps like that. The only thing I have against it is that your stick is exposed to any form of outside damage, which is why I opt for using my messenger bag. Regardless good stuff man!

Next on my list of things to do, get B15 to make me an arcade stick to function like a keytar so I can kick ass online while making a sick beat.
That or make some sort of stick, guitar hybrid with a built in amp… that would be awesome.

props for this, I have guitar parts parts around (guitar modding is also another hobby of mine) and i was considering using the actual strap buttons, drilling them on to the sides of a TE, but i didn’t think it would that be secure…
this is a way less damaging and more sturdy application!

to pnoy pride: I was recently at a tourney that you couldn’t walk through the venue with your bag since they were worried about theft. so even with a bag it alleviates carrying it the whole time.

You guys should adopt what I’ve been doing with my recent customs:

Inset handles. No extruding elements disrupting visual flow/continuity, easy to pick up, requires little effort to carry.

Great idea but be careful with excess force (can probably be caused easily by wearing the stick) the bottom rubber pieces can actually come OFF of the screw (screw will still be screwed into the bottom panel) which will then make the stick come crashing down to the floor. I’d recommend upgrading the rubber pieces like this guy did below.

Or the OP could just add some metal washers under the rubber feet

This is more of a proof of concept. with the stick i am modding soon i plan to make it cleaner, use a nicer strap and probably get nicer feet for it.

A couple of washers keep the rubber from flexing. I keep forgetting to take pics of mine.
