I didn’t hope it would be anything, friend. I bought it on a whim while buying an EB gift card.
And I’ve played every Simcity. So that buying decision made sense (and I get a FREE game out of it).
And I do still enjoy the game, they just need to patch the mother fucking shit out of it. EVERY game sucks huge amounts of sloppy dick (just like you) when it launches now. CoD games are impossible to play on day one. Diablo III launch was horrifyingly awful. It took WoW like a year to get their shit together.
And dev’s have already said they’ll be fixing utilities (no more having 20 fire trucks all swarm the exact same fire and leave the others burning) and traffic ASAP.
I see this more of a warning to not have open beta’s that aren’t full. Same shit happened with D3. Give people a taste of the opening bit, and they will be addicted obviously. But once the true gamers get their hands on it, they will break it open for the world to see.
Preordered the deluxe version of the game. Knew I wasn’t even gonna play it that much, IDGAF, I got money. Server problems? Dont care, didnt bother playing the first days anyways, was busy with other shit. Played it one week later, enjoyed it. Didn’t run into any bugs or server problems. Made about 3 cities. And now we get a free game? Fuck yeah!
Anyone else enjoying listening to the “buildings”? I love that in all SimCity games.
Also, I keep seeing people mentioning depots and mines and shit? Where do I find that??? Also, in game, I got a mission to build the Brandsomething Gate or something… Where do I find that?
Also, any point in building Elementary Schools and High Schools and Colleges if I have a University? I’m going for a $$$ Industry…
Depots and mining are in the city specialization menu (below city view in bottom left of screen). It’s hella useful

And u need grade schools to even build a university. Also because university doesn’t educate that many people so u still have dumbass sims burning shit down and chopping off fingers
so that’s two big name PC releases that failed miserably at launch, and lead to high profile people “moving” elsewhere. Jay Wilson and this dick clown, both didn’t realize how pissed people would get when you combine Always Online DRM with Single Player games.
I’ll probably grab Sim City 4 haha. I’ve played the other games which is a shame. BF3 would be good on the PC, but I dont enjoy FPS games anymore. Its a good selection to be fair.
Plants vs Zombies, and Bejeweled 3 are a waste of your assets (but probably on the list so kids can get a game that isn’t violent like Mass Effect 3 or BF3). Simcity 4 is great for giving people an offline single player Sim experience. I am gonna grab BF3 (even though it’s just a standard edition), because I miss having it for the 360, and I figure my video card will push it like a mofo. Also I literally was going to grab BF3 when I bought Simcity, but they were both the same price so I went with Simcity instead.
Although I did really wanna play Mass Effect 3 at some point. Maybe I will just pirate it

I got 1 email yesterday, from Sim City titled Sim City update and free game. It says you need to register your game through Origin. I dont really know what that means, since you need Origin to play the game anyway right? Id say follow it up if you dont have that same email by tomorrow morning. I think the game needs to be registered on Origin by the 26th latest, you can select your free game from the 22nd. Registering, I’m assuming means you just have to have played it since the game needs Origin. Unless the physical copy does not, mine was digital, bought from a random website which gave me a code for Origin.
Yeah I figure America will get it today, I will get an email tomorrow, then Europe will start getting it after the 20th. You register the game by using your cd-key. Or however you digitally purchase it. From what I’ve read, you download your game through a portal in Origin as well.
lol i never did get that e-mail, but today I finally closed Origin and when I went to re-open it, it updated and the first thing it did was gimme my free game (25gb download for Battlefield 3?!?!?!?! My ISP is gonna throttle the shit outta me)
How’s everybody enjoying the new patch? I hear some of the fixes are good, but a lot of people are now having issues with crashing for some reason, but haven’t actually verified that yet.
