Like I have stated before there are some real physically observed differences that have been shown to cause some of these conditions. They have documented that there is an actual connection between ADHD and an abnormal interface between the two sides of the brain.
The misconception is that these kids can’t function. They can’t function in the way all the other kids do, but if you give then the right circumstances then they can flourish just as well or sometimes even better than the kids they are supposedly inferior to. The problem is teachers don’t want to treat kids any differently from the others so if you can’t fall in line you get shoved on pills.
There is a huge difference between ADHD and what you perceived as “severe” depression and real serious mental disorders. I’m not talking about disorders that make your kid not listen to you, I’m talking about disorders that end with you killing someone and wearing their skin. There aren’t people out there who just manned up through severe schizophrenia. They spend the rest of their lives locked up because they can’t go a day without severe hallucinations or dangerous disconnects from reality. The mental disorders that most people are diagnosed with, and that you may encounter in your day to day are not of the same level as the ones that ruin lives. The argument could be made that since you never lost control to the point of trying to kill yourself, you weren’t that messed up. That’s a terrible simplification, but I would say it’s leads to the right answer. I do like your approach to medicine. If my uncle has another heart attack I’ll be sure to tell him to stop being a pussy and develop a strong mind.
Psychiatry is barely a science, but it’s all we have right now (sorta). Psychology is a huge pot of nonsense, but it can be used to help people. Child psychology needs to seriously be stopped right now and most of the people working in it need to never have a real job again. Constantly drugs have been prescribed without proper testing as to what they will do to children and the effects on development. These are huge fuck ups that have harmed countless kids in order to fix problems that don’t actually exist. Oh and guidance counselors who recommend to parents that a child be medicated, not helped, or analyzed, or given a talking to, but medicated, need to realize a something. You’re a fucking guidance counselor, not a doctor. Please kill yourself.
what the hell is normal i mean if you think about it we are all weird wouldnt that make being normal weird i dont even know it reminds me of my ex man she was the sexiest chick i was ever able to con into dating me she seemed like such a nice normal chick but then i found out all these kinky ass fetishes she had it was great like sticking my thumb in her ass and grabbing the rest of the cheek with my hand as i smashed her wait this is a family site lol my bad anyways yeah kids are shitheads but babies are awesome until they start really pooping food omg does that shit stink or what lol see what i did there wait what was this thread about again?
Not exactly. What I mean to say is that there’s room in the world for all kinds of people–“normal”, “exceptional”, and many other kinds that don’t necessarily conform to those categories. Idiot cunts like Santorum and his sympathizers are under the impression that you’re either normal or you’re wrong. That, of course, then becomes the pretext for categorizing non-normal people as second-class citizens.
Had I talked to a specialist or doctor, he would have sent me to the local pharmacy to consume Xanax or Prozac, which is the point here. I didn’t have to take that medicine because I had enough self control, no matter how bad it got. the same thing can be applied to the majority of ADHD cases or depression cases. We don’t more specialist telling parents that thier kids ain’t right and that they need pills to be normal.
And yes Scrizophrenic = depression or ADD. Yes it all makes sense now. Way to compare ADD or ADHD to heart failure.
well, this certainly is becoming a BRAVE NEW WORLD
people’s tendancy to seperate the a limited truth from both fact and fiction has evolved an interesting effect on our psyche. things like trend control, the purposefully degenerative explanations of dimensions and countless other shenannigans lead us all to this eventhough we had been told/warned about it over 80, EIGHTY YEARS AGO.
I love how they roll though, they know that even a God is only a puppet when observed from outside their sphere :shake:
Where ever we go, there seems to be a disorder for something.
Uh oh! This person is reading too many books! Diagnose him with “Booking Reading” Disorder!
Uh oh! This person is eating three bags of potato chips instead of two! Diagnose him with “Potato Chip Eating” Disorder!
OMG! This person just kicked a soccer ball! Let’s call that the “Kicking Balls” Disorder!
… This is just me exaggerating.
I understand that the scientific community and sociologists must conduct research but damn!
You got a CS degree? I see the problem now. You were so fucking fast compared to them that you warped time from their perspective and they thought you were broken.
There are a lot of psychiatrists who are dismayed with the system. It’s rigged to sustain itself instead of helping people. Sure, there are those who legitimately need help and are able to get it through the mental health system, but there are also those who want a quick fix to all their problems, even if that fix is merely a placebo or even introduces it’s own set of new problems.
